assalamu alaikum everyone!! once I heard a saying that goes "If you see a man with alcohol dripping from their beard, have a mentality of thinking someone poured it on him, if you see a fellow brother with a woman think that it's his wife, if you see a man coming out of a bar was seen in a bar, think that they were there to drag a brother out of the haram" personally think is how we should be, having a strong mentality that doesn't judge fast
This is a very weak and unauthenticated saying by some Sahabah, although Omar bin Al-Khatab said: " وضعْ أمرَ أَخيكَ على أَحسنِهِ حتى يجيئَكَ ما يغلبُكَ " which has an authentic chain. Omar RA said "حتى يجيئك ما يغلبك" as in until it is 100% proven, which is why this argument is only partially correct. We are told to try to change evil with our hand first, if not, then with our tongue, if not, then in our hearts and that is the weakest of Iman, as the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said. There is a big difference in the sin being judged too. For example, if its a Muslim woman that is wearing revealing clothes of course you have to have it at least in your heart against what she's wearing, otherwise there is something wrong. I can sustain being looked down upon or being so for looking down on people if it means people will fear Allah more. The prophet of Allah صلوات ربي عليه said: "كل أمتي معافاة إلا المجاهرين" - - - "All my Ummah is forgiven but the Mujahirin" (the ones who expose their sins to the public/sin in public) What good is there in us if we cannot follow our faith correctly?!
@@loeki8478 jazakallah khairan for the hadith. I just said that saying because it just means your not supposed to judge someone at the first sight. What you said is very true and should try to talk to people who are doing haram openly. But in what i said in the paragraph, nothing can be clearly said as "haram" until we know the proper situation. But again you are right

"Absolutely! In Islam, we're reminded time and again to focus on our own deeds and refrain from passing judgment on others. Our journey is about self-improvement and fostering compassion, not about critiquing others. Let's spread kindness and understanding instead of judgment, for that's the path towards a more harmonious and loving community. May Allah guide us to embody His mercy and forgiveness in our interactions with one another."
aameen. Although there is a fine line between judging and advising. Correct we r not the ones to say “Allaah loves me more” or “ur going jannah/jahannam” but we can advise. and that shud be out of love/ care for ur fellow Muslim. Not because u want ego boost. AND when someone advices us we need to assume best and not assume bad of them no matter even if they r a but rough.
I partially agree with the argument that we can't decide that who will enter heavens or the hell and that we shouldn't badmouth against someone doing a good deed as only Allah Almighty knows what is in his/her heart but at the same time if someone is doing something wrong then as a Muslim it is our duty to correct him/her. In that case we can't say I can't judge him/her. Allah Almighty says in the Quran: "There has to be a group of people from among you who call towards the good, and bid the Fair and forbid the Unfair. And it is these who are successful. " (Quran 3:104) You are the best ‘Ummah ever raised for mankind. You bid the Fair and forbid the Unfair, and you believe in Allah. If the people of the Book had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them, there are believers, while most of them are sinners. (Quran 3:110)
Thank you. Finally someone in these comments that understands. People especially the sisters love this idea they take it and go over board with it. “Don’t judge me only Allah can judge me” then they continue doing the haram and they don’t want to hear anything from anyone about stopping just doing whatever the hell they want. If I see my brother doing haram I’m going to pull him to the side and say what are you doing?? I’m going to correct it this do not judge thing is going to be a trick of the shaitan, people are not going to understand what do not judge really means and we will just see people doing haram with no corrections, as if they will just magically stop on their own
Judge people publicly by that they commit publicly. Otherwise, how will we stop evil things. If we assume the good in everything, let's assume Israel is clearing Gaza to give them better living conditions. Should we stop opposing what they do publicly?
She probably knows it is wrong and just did something so terrible she immediately went to the masjid to repent severely. Or it could be a country like turkey where secularization has made people think that it is ok.

judging has always been a part of humanity and it is not certainly something bad. If you see evil you are supposed to judge, but it has to come with a big dose of benefit of the doubt. But judging doesn't mean just hating someone it means calling out someone. The sahaba used to do this. Would the prophet allow for evil things that he saw? He would immediately call it out. So for that girl in the crop top maybe she does not know about awrah and in that case it would be our duty to call it out. Talking to her directly would expose you to some awrah so dropping a paper explaining etc.
