The girl's BMI is 20. The healthy BMI to have is between 18,5 - 24,9 and she is within those numbers so she can't be considered fat. Obviously beauty standards are different in each culture but the fact that the mom and sister think it's "a really big problem" makes 0 sense. It doesn't affect her health, it's only a matter of esthetic and if she is happy the way she is, then let her be. They say they are SO worried but they are making her feel bad about herself and those types of insecurities are very hard to deal with, I know from personal experience. Jimcrv The only problem with that is that they want to rethink the whole BMI thing. it doesn't take into consideration someone's frame, genetics and proportions. This means that BMI can not be used to measure the health of everybody, Asian people tend to have a different frame compared to western people, this means that you can only use a BMI that is specified towards those type of body shapes and frames and they wouldn't exactly be accurate when using western BMI.

I also do know that you can be thin and be unhealthy because I have a younger brother who is very thin but is more unhealthy than I am. Kai strikes me as someone who really respects women. There was another variety show where the host made fun of a high school girl's weight and he immediately jumped at her defence. I've heard he gets along really well with his sister and in that Return of Superman show you could tell he's used to taking care of his sister's kids because he was so good with the children. That proves that he doesn't seem to think it's unmanly to do things women usually do, like taking care of kids, because he respects that work and women. I don't know why I know that much about him, I need to stop watching EXO videos haha.

I cried when the daughter was on. When I was between the ages of 16-18 I hated how I looked so much I stopped eating and was severely anorexic and bulimic. It got so bad I ended up in a hospital and in a coma from severe malnutrition and starvation. This is NOT something people should take so lightly, it's a serious problem young girls and even boys battle with all over the world.

The younger sister is not fat or ugly at all. She's cute and has a face that can make people feel at ease. The mother and sister on the other hand, look mean and I wouldn't want to talk to them. Looks aren't everything, even Kai and Lay know that from all the disapproving glances they were giving the sister and mother. The girl's BMI is 20. The healthy BMI to have is between 18,5 - 24,9 and she is within those numbers so she can't be considered fat.
Obviously beauty standards are different in each culture but the fact that the mom and sister think it's "a really big problem" makes 0 sense. It doesn't affect her health, it's only a matter of esthetic and if she is happy the way she is, then let her be.

This means that BMI can not be used to measure the health of everybody, Asian people tend to have a different frame compared to western people, this means that you can only use a BMI that is specified towards those type of body shapes and frames and they wouldn't exactly be accurate when using western BMI.

The mother and the sister are more pathetic than the girl! How can they just always say she looks pathetic with whatever the little sister was doing? I'm also on her stage and ever since I started high school I've been gaining weight (which every female goes through in puberty) and both my parents and my older sister have no problems with it . They only encourage me not shame me for my body. Its not like she's some celebrity that she needs to have a strict diet to keep in shape. She's beautiful the way she is.

I'm sorry but I'm really pissed off right now. That girl's mother and sister are so rude! It's not like she's fat or obese, she's at a nice weight and looks healthy. Telling your own daughter that she's ugly and her older sister looks better than her is NOT caring. People (especially teens) commit suicide everyday because of bullying, and to be bullied by not only your sister, but your parents as well and have to live with them everyday is not good. I feel so bad for her :(

You don't get cancer from eating unhealthy. No matter if she eats healthy or not, it's not going to stop her from getting cancer, it may reduce the chance, but it won't stop it. If anything, her eating unhealthy will lead to diabetes. I do live in the U.S but even if something like this is considered 'stupid' in your opinion, you don't really know how bad it's effecting her on the inside, and neither do I. I also do know that you can be thin and be unhealthy because I have a younger brother who is very thin but is more unhealthy than I am. I am actually considered healthy whenever I visit my doctor, but my brother tends to not be. The girl's mother and sister should just leave her alone because she is not even the slightest bit obese. They way they are treating her isn't something a loving family should do. They're making it seem like just because she's thicker than her sister, that she is unhealthy which is not true. I am half Korean and my father's side of the family moved over here from South Korea not too long ago, so I know that the culture is different. But not everyone is the same, some people are more sensitive than others. I am a pacifist and I believe there are more nice and better ways to handle things even if it's something as trivial as this. And I'm sure we both can agree that teenagers all around the world (even in Korea) kill themselves because of bullying. Which, is what her mother and sister are doing to her.
lovingpink345 eating unhealthy can get you cancer, cancerous cells divide tremendously fast in acid environment(in your stomach), which you get from eating pizzas and hamburgers like her(my mom died of cancer, I know a lot about it). all I'm trying to say is that both parties have faults and rights. you can't blame the mother, she wants the best for her child in her own way, she's probably so extreme because she is scared because her mother-in-law and sister-in-law both died of cancer. but I also agree that she should try another way of convincing her child. as for the bullying, let's leave it like that. I really think we are a weak generation, we exaggerate everything and see life as a mere joke, when others want to live so bad a few years more. there are cases where people do have problems. but some are just a huge call for attention.

Kai strikes me as someone who really respects women. There was another variety show where the host made fun of a high school girl's weight and he immediately jumped at her defence. I've heard he gets along really well with his sister and in that Return of Superman show you could tell he's used to taking care of his sister's kids because he was so good with the children. That proves that he doesn't seem to think it's unmanly to do things women usually do, like taking care of kids, because he respects that work and women.

I cried when the daughter was on. When I was between the ages of 16-18 I hated how I looked so much I stopped eating and was severely anorexic and bulimic. It got so bad I ended up in a hospital and in a coma from severe malnutrition and starvation. This is NOT something people should take so lightly, it's a serious problem young girls and even boys battle with all over the world.
