This site is locally known as "GONGNYI PAPIR" in Bokar language and I'm from Monigong, Shi-yomi . my grandfather used to tells us that during their Barter Trade with Tibet, Man used to put Arrows ( Upuk ) or small white stone on ground and women, a ring of waistband ( ook ) while passing from the site(Gongnyi papir) as a tribute to legend. Also Bokar people used that old route till 62 war as there were no such Trade Prohibition from neither of the sides ( India - China ). But when the Indian Army started patrolling along the border after 62 war, incessant rainfall has caused the route to be diverted from old patrolling route to new patrolling route that was used extensively during those period. 🙏🙏🙏
It's a treat to watch such historically significant song related to the culture and tradition of the indigenous peoples of Arunachal. A very good friend of mine explained the whole song and the story behind since then I love to listen to this song 🙏🏻❤️

Story is like this way.. The elder brother is going for barter trade far away. His sister insisted on going with him so he took her with him. Later on the way.. instead of walking quietly, the sister is observing the environment of jungle and pointing at birds and big mountain and trees and talking about them... His brother is stopping from doing so because its is considered a bad thing to do in our cultural belief. Because we consider soul is present in everything from living to non living things like rock etc... point finger for giving attention to these spirit might anger them so its better to stay away or mind you own business. The sister unaware of consequences later had to face the terrible faith. I can't understand this song. But when I was little my mom told me this story while we were watching its music video on Doordarshan.

Some stupid people are claiming this is only nyishi folk tale , it’s common folk tale among Tani Group.
