Merengue PerSempre he didn't choose Virtanen bc of character, it was because of having a more NHL ready body compared to other forwards. So size > skill. But now, skill > size, and I'm happy :)

Should've been 1st overall in this draft and Canucks got very lucky that no one saw that he is a franchise defining player. Well done Jim Benning.

The people who are mad at this pick are the meatheads who were ecstatic we picked Virtanen over the weak euro's in Nylander and Ehlers. Pettersson is going to an elite player for us in a couple years. Very happy with this pick.

Pettersson is currently on pace for the best D+1 SHL season since Peter Forsberg. Granted, he's only played 13 games so far, but even with a dropoff he'd be performing well above expectations for a #5 pick.

Fast forward to 2019-2020, he hasn’t missed a beat since his rookie year. Meshing well with anyone he plays with. I love this kid
This year i feel like he kinda slumped. I mean he really didnt but his confidence wasnt as great at times when it came to his shot.

visit me because I was at school. I was PISSED we drafted him, wanted glass. Never been so happy in my life to be so wrong

I wasn't happy with this pick at first. But after thinking, all he really needs is to bulk up. He has good size, great skater. Let's just hopes he can bulk up and develop into a good player
Well after this year so far he's really still the singular blue chip prospect - cracking top 6 in the Canucks nhl lineup next season, rest of the newbies are going to be competing just head above water in the stocked-piled pool of bottom six forwards, hope honestly he has a good start to training camp.
