Hello Tankers. I liked the M1 since i noticed this vehicle. I played computergames with this car (Microprose M1 Tank Platoon). Actually i am mounting my second Abrams RC Tank (Tamiya FO). Great tank, great videos. Greetings from Germany.
Well. We use MPH to determine our speed because it's pretty standard for us and America. But KM is used to determine and measure distances as it is universal across the board. If that makes sense. We often use KM for navigation purposes, radio messages, maps, etc. So it's just easier that way. With the system the Army has been using for so long.
Just saw this. Unfortunately, I have no idea how tankers operate in other militaries, what their lifestyles are like, what their SOP is and so on. So I can't reliably give any advice.
They do have an APU. But the purpose of it is to be used when the tank is not running to provide power to the batteries so that we can ultimately save on fuel due to the APU's significantly lower fuel usage and ability to run for 120 hours straight. The APU CAN NOT run at the same time as the engine is on. It's basically a lawnmower engine that just generates power for the batteries. That's all it does.
The Abrams has 3 fuel tanks. Two in the front that are off to the sides and one in the rear. The L stands for the Left fuel tank and the R stands for the Right fuel tank.
@@ProAvgeek6328 Originally there were two fuel cells in the rear, both in the engine compartment, but one was eliminated from the M1A2 (pre SEP) variant onwards.
@@Ugimara-Imokrasa What is only rotating at 880rpm? I always thought such small turbines run at thousands of rpm. I don't understand. I thought that was main turbine rpm. I always thought the Lycoming engine peaked at around 22,000rpm for max power. Heck, I dunno.
@@Condor1970 I don't know the components of the engine but I know the engine is the Honeywell AGT1500. I know there's a row of gears coming after the turbine fan or low/high pressure compressor turbine or whatever it's called so those/that may just be what is being counted.
@@Ugimara-Imokrasa Huh? I thought tankers would have to know every part of their tank to be able to service them? Or at least be able to figure out the problem in the tank

The little windscreen wipers made me laugh
For wipers that small I can’t imagine the blades being too expensive. $17,000 oughta do them all, surely
I had a driver once who never wanted to pop open the hatch, so he would communicate with the little wipers
@@marcorodriguez4229 I pretty much did the same thing. Lmao. Especially if it was raining or muddy on the front slope.
What a Sci Fi display, I had no idea they were so slick looking lol
It's a self contained ground vessel so yeah, like a spaceship on wheels. It has filtration to remove nuclear bio chemical contaminants.
The Abrams is just such a beautiful tank. Awesome video man👍🏻🇺🇸
Rear View?! Man the Abrams has came a long way from the M1A1 and the first gen M1A2's I knew! But dear lord I still love that same exact sound.
That constant noise from the engine really took me back to my days on the M1A1.

We are so fixated to the startup sound we forget there is also shutdown sound.
Why is the speed in MPH but the distance/odometer in Km? Seems odd mixing imperial and metric units

I’m thinking about becoming a tanker in the Canadian army, any advice?

Aren't M1A2 Sep V3 have APU power unit? Why does the engine keeps on running during idle.

More video from abrams please❤
This is flippin awesome dude!
Is that Fort Hood?
Yeah.
Didn't knew tanks had AC. Pure luxury
they added that in the sepv3, its a pretty cool feature eh?
i mean, Abrams crew fought in arid conditions, so why not add some AC for comfort/Morale Boost
Aint the ac only for electronics
Can't imagine the discomfort crew went through in the middle east with these.
Dang, ive driven past that motor pool so much, ill wave next time haha
I won't be there. Lol. I reclassed.

What does the L Rear and R at the fuel thing mean?
The Abrams has 3 fuel tanks. Two in the front that are off to the sides and one in the rear. The L stands for the Left fuel tank and the R stands for the Right fuel tank.
@@Ugimara-Imokrasa so which one holds the most fuel? also do you fuel them seperately or at once
@M.L You can fuel both the Left and Right simultaneously via one pump. The rear has to be fueled separately. The rear holds the most fuel.

It looks so simple. It really was designed for grunts.
Does it handle well? Lol
Like a dream.
Hi, i just wanted to ask could i use the sound from your video for my diploma
Sure thing. Go for it.

I assume the RPM is x100?
No. The number you see is the actual RPM count.

why does your did got color and black and white and not the normal green and black?
Because they're the new touchscreens that come with the new SEP V3's.
