Same here. I have never seen another RCAF Command Set receiver. Very clean modification. Just think, they did this after the radio was probably only 10 years old (1944 to 1954).
Something I did not elaborate on was that they also converted the filament circuits from 28 to 14 volts. In that case, it just may have come with a 12 volt dynamotor. I just don't remember. 73's
I just aquired a bunch of ham radios and included in it was one of these,only mine is painted black and has a hammond power supply that looks period to the radio
There are very nice radios. Compact and solid.
