Isabel’s story actually makes for a good soap opera. She was actually born Marilou Gumabao. Since her Gumabao father wasn’t much of a provider, she was taken in by the sisters of her mother, whose maiden name was Yap. She therefore grew up as Marilou Yap in Zambales.
