I love that Generations made a funny lore bit that Sonic learning the homing attack has no true point of origin: It's a move he teaches his younger self.
Not only is the homing attack not a Sonic Team original idea apparently, the boost wasn't either. That was actually Dimps for Sonic Rush lol. Two of Sonic most used modern moves are from spin off games not developed by Sonic Team lol.
Actually, sir. About the SEGA Saturn, when NiGhTs into Dreams was released, there was a special controller released for it with an an analog stick. So it wasn't the only means for input, at least not by the end of the console's lifespan. 🤓
Actually, the homing attack could go even before all the way to S3&K. Because when you transform into Hyper Sonic in the game, you get the Hyper Flash ability which is sorta like a buffed, 2D version. It basically launches you to whatever direction you're facing after jumping which, at least for me, it's very similar to how the homing attack is represented nowadays. Nothing more, just wanted to point that out.
I consider that to act more like the Homing Dash than the Homing Attack. After all it still doesn't achieve what the Homing Attack sets out to do, make the bopping of badnicks easier in a 3D space by having Sonic target them.
I always thought the homing attack was inspired by the sonic SatAm and Adventures series where sonic turns into a buzz saw and homes in on enemies, propelling himself into the air and then a thrust towards their direction. On the sonic 3d blast dreamcast and sega pc version (the original pc version), the intro for the game even had sonic do a similar attack as he rises to the sky.
I only ever played 3D blast on the Game Cube mega collection, So moving around was never a problem for me. Also instead of trying to jump on enemies I always lined up with them and did a spin dash, it's easier to kill them that way.
Not a bad video but I want to point out about the soundtrack wasn't soley done by Jun Senoue. Other composers include Tatsuyuki Maeda, Masaru Setsumaru and Seiroh Okamoto. On top of that, Jun probably had supplied the demo music/compositions snd then it was more than likely handed to a sound programmer. This is why when he does Mega Drive style compositions, it can be questionable.

Assuming that time travel is possible, time loops do not make logical sense, unlike timeline splits.
@@fnm124 buddy its a cartoon hedgehog that runs fast
@@PixlPixelyeah but sa2 proves said hedgehog can work in serious plots so let's not get ahead of our selves

SONIC 3D BLAST WASNT EVEN THAT BAD TO BE HOENST
it’s sad so many people hate it 😢
I won't defend it being a good Sonic game by any means, but I will defend against it being outright bad.
Sonic 3D Blast was critically acclaimed. Everyone loves that game.
@@GiovanniKody100its way too hard the first level is harder than every sonic game before 3d blast

My solution for 3D Blast is to barely ever jump, I just roll into every enemy
Me too!

I thought as a kid that sonic had a super powered spin dash with that yellow shield whole time it was the homing attack

You have discord server?
Not at the moment no, sorry. That isn't a hassle I have all the means of handling currently.
Who knows, maybe down the road though.
