I have no doubt you'll get to 20k soon and be at 100k in no time. I have to say, you've got me back into a hobby I use to love as a young man. I'm 50 now, and I've started getting hooked on it again. Watching you transform your room and visit different fish hobbyist brings so many memories back. It's something I shared with my grandpa and when he passed, I lost interest. I'm taking my nephew out to buy him his first tank tomorrow. He's about the age I was when grandpa got me into it. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, thanks for loving the hobby so much that it sparked something in me to revisit it. Looking forward to seeing you get to 20k and beyond!

I love your tanks. I too have an aquarium problem, haha. I would definitely have more if this was my house. My brother is great about the 55, 50, 29, three 20's, eleven 10's, seven 5's and quite a few under that, mostly all in one room. I was disappointed to see though that you have plastic plants in some of your tanks. I refuse to use them. No plastic in their real world so only real for mine. Thanks for all the time you put into this video. Awesome tanks!!!!

I definitely agree letting the tank get a bit dirty. Sometimes you have to let nature run its course. Also, in my experience I also agree with not doing all that PH testing stuff. I’ve kept fish successfully for many years and never had one water parameter kit.

For planting tanks try using potting soil and get pool sand. Yes sand from a pool store. They use it in their filters. Use the pool sand cap the dirt and then it sounds like you guys are somewhere tropical maybe where there’s possibly lots of different aquatic plants. Go to your local pond find some grasses and different things collect them, or buy them whatever. Try to put as many plants in the tank when you start out. This doesn’t give algae a chance to survive because the plants are taking everything the algae wants. I have 250 gallon planet tanks and I have not done a water change or clean them in almost a year. Oh I scrape the front glass a tiny bit.

Wanted to set up a tank after being years out of the hobby. Unfortunately my local shop didn't get make it through covid times and it would now take about 2 hrs one way to get to get to another shop - too inconvenient. Appreciate the tours you make to see how others are enjoying their hobby. Do you think getting equipment and fish from a Petco would be acceptable? I just don't think so. What do you say?
