- I finally managed to move my lazy ass to scavenge all the historical footage about the Saori Incident, where Matsuoka decided to call Oonishi Saori by her first name(last name in jp context) and caused a huge commotion across the entire industry. "ridiculed" is a bit too strong, they just had fun with his seriousness, but i think in the end they respect that side of him.

I think this is partially exactly why he doesn't wanna call someone intimately. They insist he does it, but when he does he's somehow looked at with weird eyes. Not weird as in ridiculing but just acting in a surprised way, dumping a lot of that attention and curiosity on him, who doesn't want to be in the limelight to begin with.

I find funny, but after the explanation Matsuoka gave it in the video I started to understand a little better.
Like, if you didn't called that person by her first name from the start and sundelly starts to, that indicates that something happened and made those two people to became more intimate.
Just the especulation about this "something" is enough to make people go crazy. It literally could be the start of a romance/slice of life manga plot.

I feel bad for Matsuoka-san, they really just ridiculed him for being a non-bs straightforward person to try and cope with his anxiety. I know some of them know it and don’t really care about him and some of them know it but do care but can not speak since it’s their corporate culture not to be able to speak their minds freely
I think that, fan memes/shipping aside you can notice the people that are genuinely friendly and considerate with him.

I've heard people saying that Kayano is the only one Matsuoka feels comfortable being open with (haven't actually seen their interactions myself). Tomatsu Haruka also commented that she ends up doing like 95% of the talking when she's with Kayano. Having seen the woman herself, I now find the reason dead obvious.

"Urusai" in this context doesn't translate to 'annoying' but to 'loud'. She's asking if the others think she can't keep her cover coz she's so loud that she'd reveal her identity when others overhear her.
Logical, talking loud would blow her cover but even more I see it as her act of self-deprecation. Especially when you combine the reaction from the other two, you can see a nuanced annoyance Oonishi expressed in her being loud.

Sweet Jesus! Such a drama for a tiny "incident". This is the problem with having that culture of never speaking straight. In any other country, this would have been a non-issue. Matsuoka could have just said his bit, and Oonishi hers and that's it. But because they can just tackle things straight, you've got this mess...
