I didn't get cliffhanger from the ending. More like sad departure because as far as we know Takato and others might never get to see their digimon again. Though that ending makes me question the cannonicity of the two movies. As a kid I balled like baby when the digimon left at the end. No joke.
DLBot2016 One movie occured per se before they left to the Digital world. The other occured clearly after the end (it hinted they reopened a hole to the human world). At least it's not the canon fuck that's the Cherubimon movie for Season 2...
