The notebook I received was manufactured in Turkey and it is definitely fountain pen friendly!!!! I am so excited, thank you so much for sharing!! 😊🎉
I got my expanded in the mail yesterday from the link you had in your description for Amazon. Made in China, pale yellow sticker. Paper felt different than the clearance pocket daily that I said I got with the good paper. Testing confirmed it's a "bad" one. I knew it was going to be a gamble. I don't have prime so I had paid 25.00. I will still enjoy it though. Still many things I can write and draw in it with. I will have to see when I'm done with it if I feel I'd spend 25.00 if I knew it was going to be the same quality. Very strange Moleskine does this and doesn't seem to care. I'm sure if they made sure to only produce the "good" ones, their sales would go up! A couple videos ago you did recommend a fountain pen for me when I asked and I just want to say thanks! Even though you don't have prime, if you're completely dissatisfied with any of your notebook order, Amazon allows you to return it for full refund, just FYI. Moleskine is truly a mystery to me. I've bought several but the one im using as my journal (not extended size just the regular one) i bought in store back in NYC and the paper is truly amazing. I got another one from TJ Maxx (made in China with grey sticker) and the paper is also good, but the NYC one is better. As an engineer- the discrepancies in quality amaze me- as in i don't know why they have such different paper in what essentially is the 'same product'. I don't know why they have so many variations- I also dont know if its intentional... Many unknowns!! I'll do some research when I have the time because their manufacturing process is interesting to say the least...
I have been very loyal to the Moleskine during the years 2006-ish through 2012. 2006 was when I started using fountain pens, and the Moleskine was the most recommended notebook for them. I stopped in 2012 when I started getting Moleskines with paper that no longer works with fountain pens. I have never looked back.
Moleskine has gotten very pricey in my country as of late but luckily I found a local company making a notebook very similar to Moleskine but with better and more consistent paper. I have yet to test my dip pen though. And best thing it is half the price of Moleskine
I always have Filofax envy but I know what works and has always worked for me for years are traveler’s company notebooks and I don’t even like rings I just find Filofax pretty 😂
Teas that I love are the Blueberry Wild Child from Natural Grocers, Stash Spice Dragon Red Chai or Stash Double Spice Chai, and Bigelow Constant Comment. I used to love Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice but haven’t had it for about a year or so. Don’t know if it’s still as good.

Isn't weeks something like one cm. thick? It doesn't look like the new one would be half more in thickness, in comparison, 1,5 cm's. Perhaps the perspective played tricks with my eyes.
I like your moleskin explorations. I actually love the soft cover best, but am disappointed in thin paper. Is it possible to know which one has the thicker paper? Cheers!🐇
Not that I know of. It’s a risk knowing which ones are good quality or not. If you’re wanting thicker paper, though, Leuchtturm makes notebooks that are 120gsm. My favorite “thicker” paper is my Midori. Their notebooks work well will just about everything❤
Nooo! Not all China ones are bad. The two I showed in this video were my good "unicorn" ones. But, I understand. It really is a gamble at this point. Perhaps try the second theory- measuring them by the spine (for the expanded version). If it's 2cm in thickness, they're good. I bought 2 hard cover expanded and they were fountain pen friendly. No bleed thru even with ink pads. So happy! No luck with expanded soft cover.
