      ***** (apologies for replying to a 7mo post but it was tempting.)
      I think it depends on your awareness of yourself and your actions and how you truly focus your thoughts.
      Most fans/fandoms are huge rallying mass of mindless devotees to a concept, item or person that they will praise and defend to the point of harming other people or breaking laws of decency towards others of a different mindset.
      Which is basically pointing out that obsessive fandoms are like a religion of zealots that don't realize how far they've taken it. People will even go so far as to tell one another to go kill themselves if someone thinks something they're desperately clinging to may be in some form immoral, or even JUST pointing out when someone has taken something a bit too far.
      Like I'll also see fans of Russell's just randomly spurt comments on his vids proclaiming their undying (Sexual) love for him on comments, yet they'll just completely leave off any thoughts or admiration or agreement to any of his words or important points made. They'll just gloss over everything he's said because they see, 1. He's good looking, 2. He's a rebel, 3. he's smart - but they won't HEAR the actual content because all they know is "this man is special and we want him" and nothing else will matter.

    That's the thing about fear, once you remove it, only possible consequences remain, possible consequences can be logically measured, fear cannot.

    • @nar0099
      @nar0099 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that's bullshit isn't it?

    • @therecordholder
      @therecordholder 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes sense to me. Maybe someone has a different opinion than you. Perish the thought!

    • @nar0099
      @nar0099 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jake Noel But you're touting it as fact, not opinion.

    • @therecordholder
      @therecordholder 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      nar0099 So you're telling me that when you remove fear possible consequences magically disappear along with it? Or are you saying fear, an abstract emotional concept, can be logically measured? Those kinda are facts.

    • @nar0099
      @nar0099 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jake Noel I'm questioning whether or not it is only possible consequences which remain. Why is that all that is left? And possible consequences? As opposed to what? Impossible consequences? And what is the significance of the measurability of either?
      I'm basically saying that you are spouting meaningless, empty drivel to try and appear intelligent over the internet.

    so true about the promotion of 'fear' by the meeja. I only see the papers in my local smiths in passing I never ever buy them anymore. They are usually full of negativity and mis-information. A state of anxiety is how they want to keep us. We are more malleable that way. And kept in a state of distraction so we don't focus on anything of real importance or benefit to our selves and society. 3 people basically run the show. Says it all really! Nice one mista

      I agree wholeheartedly. I'd like to have The Trews everyday, but I'd rather see quality over quantity. Thanks for bringing this up, it'd been on my mind too.
      Russell- This is a really good episode. In many aspects. When you are inspired, clear, connected, your audience can FEEL it. It transmits right through my iPad. The same holds true for days you are hurried or stressed- we feel that too. I like to watch the Trews before a painting session, so I prefer the former. Just because the newspaper is a daily, doesn't mean the Trews needs to be.

    You know Russell that you are reading newspapers to a generation who does not read them. It is a treat to actually see a physical newspaper and get witty reactions to the stories and adverts. Yes we do read books but newspapers? Emma Watson was at Brown University in the US and she was pursuing her degree only to go back into acting. She had a reasonably older boyfriend who would fly in for weekends.

    8:40 That is a major truth capitalism spends tons of money trying ( successfully ) to hide from us.
    In the Movie MATRIX, the kid Mouse tells Neo: "To deny our own impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us humans". Neo should have replied: "To control our own impulses is what make us humans, without the control we are just another type of animal".

    “The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.” Jim Morrison Quote

      When you accept it and do not try to escape it, you will flow trough the experience. If you cling to something and try to fight it, you will just get hurt more. Just like a water allows a knife slash trough it giving way for it to pass and closing back in behind it. Even the most hardest of substances can not do better job at retaining their shape than the water that is shapeless.

    Thanks for another enlightening segment Russ, most of which I concur. However, much that I respect Krishnamurti's idealogy, there are people who don't have the luxury for in-depth analysis of the human psyche. For example, do you think the people of Palestine could care less about the meaning of fear, given their current circumstances? No, they would simply respond in the same way any sentient being would react when threatened - flight or fight. Just sayin ;))
