Great stuff guys. One thing I've noted is it seems the guys that have had success hunting a single bed are for very old bucks. Its rare to have a buck on public in the south ever get to that age class where their home range shrinks that much. And as you said the abundance of cover makes it even more difficult. Michael Perry had an interview with Chad Morgan who had the former AL muzzleloader record and that was a cool interview. Chad found that deer's bed and got him right near it
Might be worth checking out Merrels or even some keens. Kinda split the difference between Solomon’s and some crispis. I wear a merrel Moab early season.
Y’all give some of the worst advice on this topic… bucks bed in certain locations or bedding areas for the advantage it gives them… no matter what habitat or state they are in… they don’t do random things… use lidar for flat properties u will be surprised it may look flat on a topo but there maybe a 2 foot rise or long distance with a 10 inch high spot he will be right on that high spot. They will still bed in the best locations in a given area… the more options he has in a small area the higher odds it will be part of his core… hunting a 6 plus year old on public. He has been in this same area since he was 3… had a short point on left main beam makes him very recognizable… THEY WILL NOT BED in just any cover unless it gives them an advantage…
Since we just reposted the episode on audio last year we probably won't repost it on TH-cam for quite some time. We can still share the audio feed to you if you'd like to listen. We appreciate you listening to the show on TH-cam!
You know the best thing about finding a place like this you know where yu aren’t gunna hunt. There’s so many places to hunt around me if it doesn’t check all the boxes do I want to waist my time when time is money I’d rather scout another area where I’m confident I’m not waist of my time.
All the oak trees here aborted because of drought. Are you guys seeing the same stuff where you are? It’s really challenging me as a hunter to find reliable feeding areas considering the oaks are all pretty empty.
@@thesouthernoutdoorsmen I’m in Maryland. Almost no acorns here. I’m learning how to find forage to hunt but feed trees are basically a non-event this year. Sadly.
Can yall please do an episode about coastal Carolina public land hunting? I mean talk about some of the most difficult terrain to navigate and hunt. It would be great to get your advice on it .
You guys continue day in and day out just provide the best content I’ve run across. Keep on doing what you’re doing! God bless you, brothers!
Thanks man!

Since you asked, my definition of a few is 3-5. Several is 6-9? After that it’s “many”.
And an over abundance is a Sh!t Ton!
4 or more is a bunch. 1=1 2=couple 3=few 4=bunch
Crispi is the boot I've had the best luck with.
That’s why I listen to pretty much all of your content lol
Need a blaze orange hoodie too

We haven't seen that in Alabama but we've heard reports of this in Georgia for sure.
