This is when her voice was RIGHT In that sweet spot. Mature with a slight husk & air but not to abrasive and not too light that it sounds cartoonish. This is my FAVORITE era of hers and even her repertoire.
Dionne sang these songs the best. I try to listen to others sing them but she's the best. Her phrasing, tone and range just are a perfect match. Beautiful and a class act!
This is the best era of hers vocally and musically for me. I wish she had stopped smoking this particular night. Her voice is so crystal clear with just the right amount of husk.
She is a classic! She knocked all those songs right out the box. Unfortunately, at the beginning she had a bit of trouble connecting with that so-called audience. Nothing worse than a shitty audience. Not surprised though considering where she was...
In the 80's no one spoke or even understood english, language barrier :) + She never really crossed borders here in this part of europe... I guess there were a few connaisseurs in the audience but i think they barely knew her
@@LuisPerez-eo9mt They knew her, she was just in a mood that night. Dionne had been the toast of Paris whenever she came beginning in the early 1960s. She dated Sacha Distel. I'm glad she was pissy that night, it made her sing better, she gave everything she had as if to prove them wrong for not giving her enough praise. That's my opinion. Ive been following Dionne for 50 years and have seen her 20 times. I only heard her flip out once when she saw a guy with a boom box recording the show from the audience. Entertainers should NEVER turn on an audience. They are paying to see you. They owe the performer nothing but their attention. th-cam.com/video/XTNdU1K5DvE/w-d-xo.html

Me too! I did a search specifically for 1984. She was in the zone then.
Great ...👍👏👏

Dionne Warwick is unique
Spectacular dress!

I wish she had stopped smoking during this era too or very early 90s
She is such lady
Nice! Is there more to share of this concert?
