3:48 Says "Secutor" shows a murmillo. 4:59 says "hoplomachus" has a big axe instead of small shield and spear. 7:52 says "thraex" has 2 arm blades instead of curved sword and square shield Like, come on, you either don´t bother naming it or name right the gladiator classes.
So I know I'm late but. By an extremely exceeding margin. THE hands down best gladiator game i have ever come across is. The psp exclusive. Gladiator begins. It is so incredibly in depth with many paths to choose from. And customizable player and moves. Along with so much more. Definitely check it out. The most hidden of GEMS 💎
I don't know if you like racing/destruction derby games. but a game I think would make a good video that you might like is Test Drive Eve of Destruction for Ps2/Xbox. I only found out about it a couple years ago, have played through career mode at least 6 times now. It's a lot of fun.
Man, I was befuddled to seeing this getting a steam port a few years back. Unfortunately during my time playing it I accidentally screwed up the controls and since it did not have a "reset binds" option I spent an hour trying to reconfigure it only to screw it up more, and since it was running on cloud saves every uninstall/reinstall simply brought back my fucked up binds. Oh well, still had fond memories playing this janky-ass game on the OG Xbox that for too long has been accused of being a God of War clone despite coming out almost 2 years prior.
@adam_odell 'official' Gonna have to do just that, thanks for the advice! God knows how long I'll be on leave so I have all the time in the world to fiddle with it now.
How deep did you have to dive into a trash bin to find this old game?...I mean like, how many inception layers deep did you dive into a trash bin to find this game? The skeleton warriors were cool though.
those "cut scenes" fatalities are so annoying and immersion-breaking (Witcher 2 and Darksiders 2 had the same workaround for technical limitation, i guess) i can't give it a try \= i get the idea that it also serves as down-time, but if the cost is the gameplay flow, it's not worth it. too spoiled by modern games with fluent fatality animation :)
I'd love a retrospective on how many gladiator games have come out
I remember a gladiator game on the PSP and it was the shit I only played demo but I loved it
Gladiator begins. It had actually a pretty decent story with some nice choices and the new game+ option was wonderfull giving a lot of replay value.
That gladiator mask looks like it has a sweet Hogan mustache built on
In terms of Gladiator games, I prefer Colosseum Road To Freedom for PS2 publishedby KOEI who is usually accurate with historical games.
there is an early Xbox game that isn't necessarily gladiator combat, but is like Roman colliseum chariot battling called Circus Maximus.
Man, when those two kids showed up I had some mad flashbacks to Deadly Premonition
Pretty sure that is sean pertwee doing voice over. Reminds me that i need to watch Dog Soldiers again, it has been too long.
Does anyone remember the other Gladiator Game from Capcom? I believe Shadow of Rome was its Name. I remember this was really fun.
HOLY HELL!! Matt! I just remembered ReCore!
Reminds me of that bit in Jade Empire. I miss that game
I'm reminded of that Gladiator game based on the Starz show Spartucas.
Sean Pertwee is voicing the main character nice!
1:15 Matt’s a plannin’ man. The stabbing sounds sound like some guy’s in the back ripping T-shirts & rushing Rice Krispies
I remember playing a Demo for this and being SUPER HYPED and then I couldn't find it anywhere :/
10:00 hey look it's Issac and Isaiah Ingram from Deadly Premonition.
3:48 Says "Secutor" shows a murmillo.
4:59 says "hoplomachus" has a big axe instead of small shield and spear.
7:52 says "thraex" has 2 arm blades instead of curved sword and square shield

Underrated game for aure
I’d love a Gun Flophouse
I think the main character is voiced by Sean Pertwee who was the squad leader in Dog Soldiers
Colosseum road to freedom,it was really good
I loved that game. wish it was on steam.
Didn't expect vordt of the boreal valley to show up
If you're talking about Jason and "Rise of the Argonauts", it's a surprisingly good game. I play through it about once a year.

You should do a retrospective on the wave of Rome themed Ps2 games.
My brother had this game on PS2. I was really scared by the man screaming toward me on the boxart (the same as the thumbnail).
Rise of the Argonauts i think it was
Skeleton warriors!
Jus bought this on Steam yesterday for $4... Loved it back in the day!
I've adored this game since I was but a boy. Sean Pertwees voice is increedible, the man should have so much more voice over work.
Plot twist this is demon souls spiritual game
I just remembered the clash of the titans remake had a game too..and a sequel to the movie likely had a game....
blood rayne style blades :D
Gladiator: Sort of Vengeance?
7:00 Why is the foreground crowd facing the screen?...
This one didn't look that bad

Reminds me of Shadow of Rome
Wait a minute.......this isn't Shadows of Rome
No, but I already played/did a video on that.
@@MattMcMuscles Too many gladiator games came out around that time. They all blend together in my brains.
Joe

ryse son of rome
I thought you already played this?
nope
Matt McMuscles well I’m clearly a gobshite
Why put Xbox in the title if you played it on PC
