This must have been very weird to go through, and I assume there would have been a lot of accidents at first. Even more than drivers on the wrong side, I'd think pedestrians would have been more likely to step out into the street after looking the wrong way and not seeing an oncoming vehicle.
I'm surprised that most cars seem to have already had left-hand drive. That's good if you're on the right, but not if you're on the left, which they had been.

Jobbade i Bangkok på 90-talet. Köra på vänstersidan är knepigt.

Alla hade inte råd med en bil och alla hade ju inte heller körkort. Så det var troligen en moped.

1:29 - Two pedestrians step out into the street, and both of them can be seen looking in the wrong direction to check for oncoming vehicles. They look to their right - but of course nothing's approaching from there. They were going to have to learn to look to the left instead.

I had the opposite problem when I moved to Ireland. Having been spoilt with right-hand traffic all my life I had to learn to look to the right when crossing a street. Then, after 1.5 years I moved to a country with right-hand traffic, and I had to "re-program" my brain all over again. :D

I’ve gone through that when visiting left-hand drive countries and then returning home. This affects driving in addition to being a pedestrian.

What a racist and bigoted comment. You realise you made this comment on a video about traffic right? That just shows that you are an ignorant racist.

There were a few, but they rusted into oblivion. Sweden has a rough climate for more than 6 months a year. The French cars were built for the continent those days.

The total number of accidents went down immediately after 3.9.1967, which is understandable considering supervision, insecurity etc, while interestingly death rates went up among those who rode cars, while less pedestrians and cyclists were killed. This may be the reason why such statistics have never been officially emphasised, because the so-called reform had to be defended by any means available. Certainly the Swedes ought to have opposed the switch in a more creative manner.

@@holdingtonfarley4444 Kort och gott, när jag lämnade den kommentaren för 10 år sedan, då hade jag nog kunnat ge dig ett rakt svar på den frågan. Men detta är inget som jag håller fast vid än idag! :)
