I had this as a kid. It's still probably in the garage in 100 pieces. Fun fact it's a retooling of the James Bond Jr toy when that series and it's toys failed hard. That's why it's got a bunch of James Bond style gadgets when it's thematically nothing like The Mask. Apart from the teeth which was not off the original.
@@KingofPotatoPeople That's a weird detail I wouldn't have expected. If you've seen James Bond Jr that's not a show that seemed like they put a lot of effort in
Funny none of the Mask Figures seem to have come with the Actual Mask I have the Eye popping one though I got it used and Someone Glued its feet to a Red Piece of circular thin cardboard for some reason.
Cool looking toy! I loved the Mask movie and cartoon as a kid also. Toy wise, ive still got my Mask head water toy that i got with one of the Kellogs cereals from back in the day, but alas it was the only Mask toy i had
Oooo that sounds cool, not sure if I had that. I do need to do a video on the mask pencil toppers sometime. Thanks for watching, another mask vid coming later
I think in the cartoon he was worried about missing Bulldog biscuits and gravy at the local diner and saying crime fighting was fun but breakfast was his region or something. I remember Stanley being sick afterwards
Curious how the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, despite it being an american toy: that's because this toy was mostly a reuse of the James Bond Jr Sports Car molds from Hasbro. The James Bond figures were generally lighter so the ejector seat worked better with them (we know, we did a review of it years ago ;) ).
Yeah someone else posted that before and I had no idea but it all makes sense now, to ne honest the steering wheel thing didn't even compute in my head. But the ejector seat etc makes sense. Never had any james bond Jr toys. Thanks for watching and commenting, got another mask toy coming soon
I had it and still cherish it. Back in the day I was thrilled with this toy. I can remember it didn’t came with any figure. The figures sold separately. I had only a few of the figures no more than 4 including the big milo dog with eye popping action. But this car it was so cool! The ejection seat gimmick it was a nice concept but it was pretty disappointing and as you showed a pain in the ass to lock it down once activated. As a kid I had to struggle so much with it , it was way to hard for an 8 year old. Again nice concept but poor execution. The tire slashers it was ok as a bonus. In my mind the chomping action and the missiles where amazing as a play feature on their own so I was really happy with the toy. But one of the things that I loved the most was something you didn’t even mentioned which was the smooth wheels, this car rolled flawlessly even on carpeted floors. So I always loved to play with it on the floor. With the slightest effort you could make this car go pretty far! This toy I remember I had it around the same time I received the street sharks big truck. The one with the shark teeth on the front and the spring actions. Yes,Yet another vehicle with teeth. Cool vehicle as well but those shark wheels the where useless on smooth floors. I hated how it rolled. I remember wishing it could roll as smooth as the mask mobile. Side note also I love the colors on the mask mobile they always reminded me of the Nickelodeon color scheme.
Nickelodeon orange is my favourite colour. I didn't even think to mention the wheels as I just thought a car toy should go smoothly and it did ha ha. Yeah the chompers were definitely the best bit. Got another mask vehicle video going up soon. Thanks for watching and commenting, I'll have to get that street sharks vehicle sometime and try it out
@@oddpodshow Hey Dan, I always support your videos. I’m sorry I didn’t meant to criticize you, I just wanted to poin that out because as a kid those things where important details, after all what’s the point of a vehicle if it barely rolls? Right? That’s my point. Also you where right the seat gimmick it was too much for the weight and size of the figures. I found out that it only works with the real ghost busters line by Kenner. If you put one of the main four ghostbusters figures without the proton pack it works just fine. I’ll be looking forward to your next video I didn’t realize that there where more than one vehicle in this line, keep up the good work. And when you shoot the missile the first time with out even taking aim at the figure it was hilarious the fact that you knock it down first try by accident. I appreciate you showing the box it reminded me the feeling of seeing it at the toy store shelves for the first time and daydreaming about buying the toy. You should show the box first. And then the figure even tho it’s not an unboxing video I feel like the best part which is the toy itself should be left for last. But that’s just a suggestion. I enjoy the video either way. By the way bring rainbow Johnson back! “It’s fine, just don’t think about it” lol cheers
@martinspindler3191 hi, oh I didn't think you were criticising just pointing something out I hadn't even thought about. Well someone let me know that this car is actually from the james bond Jr line just changed slightly (the chompers mostly) and that's why the ejector isn't great as the james bond Jr ones were smaller apparently. The reason I didn't show the box first was because when people scroll now and come across a video it sometimes starts playing it as a "preview" before clicking so I thought having the car straight away could get some to click rather than a box that they might not want to see. Only a test ha ha. Thanks for supporting the channel, next vid up later today :)
Can you get a more iconic mid-'90s automotive accessory than the three-spoke alloy wheel, eh? (Although typically not with pop-out tyre slashers). I like that it's quite a credible caricature of a Lotus M100 Elan from a few years earlier. Presumably made sense when they did it as the James Bond Jr car.
My bro wants to know if you’ve read the new thunder cats comic series dynamite put out since the comic has action figure variant covers he figured just right up your alley
Question have you watched stranger things I ask cause they just put out a 4 issue tmnt crossover. Comic series . And was pro wrestling never a thing for you I don’t think you’ve done a video about pro wrestling.

It's a cool toy, thanks. A simple vid but hopefully entertaining enough 😅
Smokin 👍
Hope you enjoyed 😁 🌪
Never had any of them Mask toys. Did used to watch that cartoon though. Got a vhs of a couple of episodes somewhere I think.
The cartoon was great, I remember being super excited for the cartoon to come out.
The MASK
Great movie
Good cartoon
Cool toy line
Bad sequel
100% agree 🌪
And an okay SNES game

Maybe to stand it up or something??
I do need to get more Mask figures as there were a bunch of crazy looking ones
Did you ever pick up the mask Audio books that graphic audio put out recently?
Whaaaaat?! I didn't even know about that

glad to see some more uploads i have 3 more to watch now
Yes, another coming in next few days. Enjoy 😉
That car really is nice. All I had was a pink car for Barbie and Ken to ride around in 😂
Well that's nice too...didn't have big chomping teeth though

Hi, we'll be checking in that! If you have a chance to get them for a fair price, some of the James Bond Jr toys were pretty fun. Ciao!

I only learned about it being from james bond Jr yesterday, makes sense though as I never had any james bond Jr toys.
@@oddpodshow I only learnt that James Bond Jr even existed today, from reading the comments here!
@TimberwolfK ha ha, I knew about it. Just never watched it
They should have called it "make you sit slightly awkwardly seat"
Ha ha I know, someone said it was the same mold as a james bond Jr car minus the teeth so maybe the figures for that were a bit smaller
