So appreciate your inquisitive nature and willingness to experiment, AND l love your thoughtful reflections on process and results. Thank you for sharing!
Yussssss I love this so so much! Which company’s raven black are you using? The black I have seems to always split to a purple and I love the way the black you are using doesn’t seem to do that!
I do prefer the no extra sprinkle of SA because it seems you get a better flow and less concentration in one area. To each his own though, Whatever works for one might not work as well for another, but I really appreciate your tutorials and your experimentation.
Thanks so much for the comparison. I prefer to presoak. That way, I know that soda ashes everywhere in the fabric. I do Always put some extra on top of the ice.” Just to make sure”. I think for certain types of process, I will stop doing this and see how I Feel my items come out. I like them more flowy shirt you did. Do you have a favorite t-shirt you use? Thanks
A follow up thought / question- presoak in SA at a lower concentration than standard formula and it’s impact on flow. (You may have done this and I’m out of the loop.)
Curious to see a comparison between pre-soaked fabric without extra soda ash and non-pre-soaked fabric. One reason I like to ice dye is because pre-soaking is a pain in the butt so I typically just sprinkle soda ash on with the dye. Now I'm curious how different my things would look with pre-soaking (I like the one without the extra soda ash, as well)
@@corkylorenz on a theme here, I like simplifying things, and I love the color mixes like the Dyespin Dark Horse dyes (especially Wild Garden and Elysian). My favorite dyes include a lot of shades of green! Thanks for being willing to try so many things out and share, it's very cool.
Your videos are so helpful, flowy ice dye is my favorite - you have inspired me to keep trying...thank you! ♥

Never even heard of soda ash burn. 😂. I know it burns any cuts on your hand 😂😂😂.
How did you make the t-shirt you were wearing in the first part of the video?😮

I totally feel you in the soaking being a pain!! I will try that next. Thank you for the suggestion. ❤️
Any color themes you use a lot?
@@corkylorenz Interested in this too, as I often skip soaking if I can because it's an annoying step to me personally.
