Noble and challenging program exquisitely performed! I loved the Bach played so poetically with such dignity and grace (Bach is so often played too fast, to my way of thinking, making his amazing harmonic genius difficult to appreciate fully, or too mechanically and dry, ignoring his human heart). You are a true artist. Bravissimo!
Absolutely fabulous!! Thrilling. Thank you Marko. And thank you Richard for the opportunity to hear a recital of this quality. I loved the musical selections and perfectly matched organs. How fun to hear Salisbury with some BiS magic 😊 - bravo!!!!
Marko Sever certainly gave an astonishing Organ Recital which I enjoyed very much. Richard, you are certainly a fine organist and promoting others to add to BEAUTY IB SOUND. Keep up the good work! Hearing the organ right where you are certainly is better than hearing it at a distance.
What a brilliant performance. You played the Bach at just the right speed I could hear every note and phrase, this was what my teacher insisted on! You are a very talented and accomplished young man
A truly magnificent concert! Thank you Richard/BIS for bringing Marco within our experience. What a brilliant organist, and while I'm sure there are those who may not agee with me, my favourite piece was the Guillou. Marco's playing convinced me of it! Thank you so much, Marco!
A most delightfully comprehensive and excellent recital! Thank you Marko and Richard (and Caroline, Hugo, Nala, Bobbie, et al), and all the BIS support gang! Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) Prelude 0:00 and Fugue 2:22 in A major BWV 536 (Rotterdam) Marcel Dupré (1886 - 1971) 8:33 Carillon (Sept Pièces) (Saint-Ouen) César Franck (1822 - 1890) 15:14 Pastorale (Saint-Ouen) Sir Edward Bairstow (1874 - 1946) Organ Sonata in E flat (Salisbury Cathedral) 25:01 Andante serioso, ma con moto 32:37 Allegro giocoso 36:16 Maestoso Jean Guillou (1930 - 2019) Sinfonietta (Dudelange) 42:55 Allegretto 49:52 Andante 56:02 Allegro Giocoso (hopefully these are correct - please let me know if changes are needed ...)
Marko, after my last comment on your wonderful playing. I have now listened to the rest of your program and I think you are phenomenal: The Franck and the Bairstow were nothing short of astounding. You must play the latter in York Minster where it was written in mind. I knew Dr Francis Jackson and he would stamp his approval on your performance of his teacher’s composition
Simply brilliant, and a fascinating discussion afterwards. I look forward to hearing Marko's future recitals - hope Adelaide is on the itinerary 🤞🤞 but good excuse for a road trip
Wonderful program by Mr. Sever! AND the interview w/him. Getting person's perseptives on the music, others, & his/her work is so interesting. Thank you, Gentleman!
This was a great recital, well executed and showing Marko's great playing skills. His pedal work, especially that final trill in the Guillou piece, was really impressive. Thanks to Marko, Richard and Caroline.
Virtuosity, skillful registration, and an outstanding choice of recital program, I'd say. I launched into this to find out who Marko Sever is; it ended way too soon. Marko Sever is to be followed. I hope Australia isn't too far to prevent some world tours with your talents. See ya later, Mate. I couldn't agree more about Jean Guillou. He was always my prototypical Wizard Of Oz; in a great way.
Bach often played to fast ,this is a challenging program , I must say this piece is played with dignity and the way it was intended with 💯the same dignity and grace and grace as Mr Sever has ,thank you for this masterful piece ,Richard
Lord Richard, Thank you for letting the BIS Community hear another distinguished artisan in the same league musically like Anna Lapwood. Interesting that his surname is "Sever", which in Russian translates as "North". Yes, I do speak, read, and write in Russian. In re to repertoire - 100% score!!! And the Guillou - The Sinfonietta has a special place in my heart, it being the first Guillou at the tender age of eighteen I was...
Thank you for this recital. All best wishes Marko on your return to Australia from New Zealand. Well done Richard. Subscribers creeping up. Yay! Blessings
I would love to hear you play in Westminster Cathedral. Some rather difficult pieces which you played effortlessly. I will get hold of a copy if your CD. I am a big fan because you are an awesome organist and also a really nice type of guy with stunning good looks and dress sense. Your gift cane from God and you are giving him glory through your phenomenal playing. Bless you Marko.
Now that Dr.Jackson is now at rest, I hope that many young organists like yourself will continue to promote Bairstow’s Organ compositions for the remarkable and place they hold in British organ music
Great recital, only just had chance to catch up with this, was background music whilst I did some work e-learning course work. Promotion and a new department in the hospital I work at means more learning so using BiS for background music to stop me going bloody mad 😀 And great to see Salisbury Cathedral Organ has been added to your collection. An English Cathedral Organ was definitely needed in your collection. I guess it now comes in Surround? I'm sure thats why you didn't have it before but I could be wrong?
Thanks David. Appreciate your comment! Salisbury isn’t available in surround, but I thought I’d take the leap of faith with it especially for Marko’s performance of the Bairstow. What do you think to the way it sounds on BIS, since it has been through the BIS production desk?
@@beautyinsound It sounds perfect, I can't fault it at all. I'm intrigued to know what the organ sounds like without any edits. I know there are recordings of it on TH-cam but there's no physical organ like that on BiS. Is surround more for the speakers in the actual room? Can you tell from a recording if it's surround or not with no editing? :) I hope you, Caroline and Hugo are well and hope you had a lovely trip (Or still having if you're still away). Fraternal love and prayer as always. :)
Richard - since I’m obviously dense and missed it, please tell me where in Aus Marko is now playing. I’d love to also hear him in his natural habitat on my next trip down under. He’s a truly gifted young player and seems quite personable as well.
I'm curious, gone are the days of page turners. How does the tablet work while you're playing? How do you take notes on the manuscript during practice?
Watching a replay of this was a nightmare. Besides multiple on-screen adverts it broke off in every quiet part for double adverts. I lost count! I cannot believe how may people in the chat were not familiar with the first three pieces of music, however I will admit to not having heard the last two before.
Hi David, really sorry you had this experience with the adverts. TH-cam adds them automatically. I’ll ask Richard to move the adverts to gaps in the programme, although it might take him a couple of days to do this as we have another live concert tonight.
Also regarding the Bairstow. When he wrote this , high pitched Mixtures and Mutations were out of fashion so to use them in a performance can slightly numb the authenticity of the piece.
Do you mean which pieces or which organ? In either case, that info is now in the video description. The names of the Hauptwerk sets are in parentheses.

I absolutely agree with you about the speed which some organists play Bach. Not so with this incredible young man who has got it right.
Amen!@@davidcraggs3770

Positive praise indeed! Was an absolutely stunning performance! The Bairstow is suuuuch a glorious piece!!
Marvelous recital. Thank you, Richard for having him play. New organist to this American. Inspiring!
It's always amazing to me how someone with two hands and two feet can create such astounding music! Thank you maestro!
Enjoyed all of that Marko. Thanks for sharing your talent with us in the UK..
A very nice recital program, especially the Bairstow and Guillou were splendid!
Wonderful recital. Great selection of works. Played brilliantly. Thanks so much Marko.
Fantastic. I have good memories of his recitals at St Albans, and they helped shape my interests in Organ Repertoire to a degree 😎
Simply brilliant, and a fascinating discussion afterwards. I look forward to hearing Marko's future recitals - hope Adelaide is on the itinerary 🤞🤞 but good excuse for a road trip
Organ music is in good hands with Marko and other budding musicians! 🇨🇦

Thank you Marko for a great recital this evening! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the pieces :)
Lovely program... lovely playing
Thank you so much Mr Sever for this wonderful recital.

Beautiful program, and great registration
Fine program and playing; thank you, Marko and Richard!
Fantastic recital! I ordered Marko's CD which arrived very promptly and is a beautiful rendition of some glorious Dupré
Glad to hear you’ve bought the CD! Did you buy it after hearing Marko’s recital on BIS?
@@beautyinsound Yes, I bought the CD after listening to this recital.
You and that organ or one. You make it work. Perfect.
Head and shoulders above any other BWV 536 I've ever heard.
Marko is a class act!
Wish I could have been there to see and hear this instrument!

Loved your rendition of the virtuosic and seldom heard Dupre Carillon!
I love the registration so far

Wonderfully presented could some please name the pieces in order he is playing here ?

In my dining room, otherwise known as the BIS Music Room.
