Grimsby are a top club with top fans, who are passionate. This is written by an AFC Bournemouth fan. Not long ago we beat Grimsby to stay in the football league. But now look at the gap between the two clubs. Anything is possible 🍒

I'm a Fleetwood lad and I stayed in Grimsby working for a number of years so impressed how the locals really back their own team all credit to use
My favourite memory of Grimsby town is Bournemouth 2 - 1 Grimsby town! (2008/2009) (Kept the cherries up, since then we have gone from league two to prem) Great football club you are Grimsby! (Bournemouth fan)
Weird but great day. Both sets of fans celebrating at the end. We lost but stayed up as well. Hot, sunny day, well nice place for going on the lash pre game Bournemouth. How things change !

As a Bournemouth fan, seeing us beat Grimsby to stay in the league and now we are in the premier league it's unbelievable. I didn't think Grimsby was the worst place. I thought it was Blackpool personally

I think there's something special about supporting a team like Grimsby/Plymouth/Swindon etc a town with 1 club that's been in the league system. Something you simply can't feel when you support a London team, or live in a town with a non-league club with poor support. I support a London team as I'm originally from that part of London, but I live in a town with a non-league club with poor support.

Hmm. That's a point (in reference to the childhood pic in a Man U shirt). I think I had a Liverpool footie shirt when I was younger. I'm from Norfolk. I don't even like football. How did that happen? I'm 34 now and I've still never even been to Liverpool.
I do remember for a few years liking Liverpool just because of their away kit, which had dark emerald green and white. Maybe some black, I dunno. I think another reason I liked them was simply that they weren't Man U. Though I think the shirt I had was just white. I dunno where it came from or why. I only remember wearing it once. Or maybe I imagined the whole thing.
Is it possible to buy tickets at the stadium itself for non-English people? I love the proper English football experience, not the bullshit of the Premier League with the stands full of asian tourists.

I would recommend buying a ticket online for a league one club or something but you can usually buy tickets on the day
Of course mate, call it "pay on the gate" for lower league games like Grimsby 96% of the time you can turn up before kick off and just buy tickets there

Grimsby seems to be a forgotten town. Once cheap flights to sunnier climes became popular the likes of Blackpool and Grimsby nosedived. Images of old tired, worn out grimy places with okish beaches for 2mths of the year. Sad but true.
