    Matty, all your old Marlin 6 videos is how I found this channel. We all progress and move forward, although I still love that bike and get it out now and then. A few months ago I bought a Fezzari, Delano Peak as my first full suspension. I absolutely love it and would recommend anybody looking into a new ride look at this bike. So much bang for your buck compared to some other brands. I've been riding it hard with no issues. Keep up the great work man!

    I think a lot of "average" riders severely overcompensate with suspension, which has normalized bikes with 150/160+mm of travel, but in reality most people would be fine with much less. Folks might not be aware but it was only ~10 years ago when 120mm was considered long travel, and it's not like the terrain we're riding has changed drastically in that amount of time. As an average rider myself, almost every trail I've ridden in the CO front range I've done on a hardtail, and there's only been a few times where I've felt truly under-biked for a trail or feature - more often than not the limiting factor is skill on the bike, not the bike itself.

    I sold my Commencal Meta TR (which I loved) and bought the Top Fuel 9.8 AXS T-type. I can tell you that I match the same times on the rough downhills compared to the Commencal but I am much faster on the uphills with the Trek.

    Thinking of a Top Fuel 8XT with 130 in the front and 120 in the back.

    The Top Fuel should be able to handle some rowdy stuff, especially trials-y low speed tech like Hall Ranch. Definitely try to get a Fuel EX or the new Slash to test, though you'll wanna hit some proper rowdy stuff for those.

    Top fuel is an excellent quiver killer.

    I really like the Top Fuel but ended up with the Fuel as I ride rocks sometimes and I weigh 235 lbs. I'm lucky enough to be friendly with my local Trek shop and was able to try both. That being said, I would have been fine with the Top Fuel but the Fuel served my needs a little better. My wife never rides the rough terrain do I got her a Siskui D7 and it's perfect for her needs.

      with a 130 fork, you can easily ride chunky stuff on it. It's basically a fuel from a few years back. You'd just need to pump the air up in the suspension for your weight.

    I seen people put a 130mm fork on this and take it to the Bike park!

    I think you got it about right, it's probably a great bike for the average rider. Well, the average rider with $3200 to spend on a bike, that is... :)

      Haha yea I know! This bike is a little too expensive in my opinion

      $3200 and in the blurb on their website they describe it as an "affordable bike" haha

    How does the top fuel compare to the Roscoe 9?

    • @MattyActive
      @MattyActive  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Roscoe 9 is definitely more capable in my opinion but the top fuel is a lot faster. Unless you like mostly XC riding I would choose the Roscoe 9

    You've taken the marlin and Roscoe on harder trails and the top fuel is a way more capable bike than both of them
