Look at fast food places to see there are no line ups. There is more security at grocery stores than a bank has. I would be delusional if I didn't notice what is going on.
Do you know what is going on? The root cause is the unsustainable anti-economic system itself: market capitalism. That's well documented. From academics like Jason Hickel to Richard Wolff to Tim Jackson and Timothee Parrique, and many more, it is no secret that capitalism is the sickness and is responsible for the cultural decline. The question is for those who know the problem, what pathways to get a viable solution? Hint, hint: It's not hoping benevolent politicians will pop up to save you by voting for them. Voting may happen strategically at the time it is available, but that's a small, small part of the solution. Bottom-up, community oriented mutual aid networks and cooperatives is a big part of the system change solution we need. Can be aided by a platform like One Small Town. And that's just getting off the ground. We could use more of that kind of stuff.
This is all solved very easily - only people that pay income tax and do NOT work directly for any government body should be allowed to vote Federally or Provincially (Exception: Military Personnel, for obvious reasons). Period.
The commentator thinks the solution is more government programs? We are being taxed to poverty which is driving out people and businesses with above-average income potential, because they can get a better deal in other countries. We don't need more programs, we need a thriving economy like we had 10yrs ago before you-know-who was elected. The proportion of people in poverty has grown consistently since our government introduced more programs and taxes.

Canada desperately needs to devalue its currency to boost exports and increase immigration to offset the retirement rate. Trudeau made a wise choice by introducing the carbon tax to help all of the social programs Canadians really need.
Number one, notice how ALL canadian social problems now are 'canadian' and not provincial. Food banks are most certainly provincial. The poor is what we are talking about here, and the federal liberals are most certainly doing more for the poor than the conservatives, either federal or liberal. For money issues, property tax has skyrocketed here. The carbon tax actually PAYS us a little. The PROVINCE is responsible for property taxes, as well as municipalities. Trudeau has increased NO taxes unless you make over 70 grand, then you dont get a carbon rebate and boo hoo for you. ALL the focus seems to be on the federal government now as provinces sell off our healthcare and provincial policies hardly get discussed. Welfare is provincial, housing is provincial. In our province we couldn't get our premier to bring in ANY rent control as buildings got sold off DURING covid and rents jacked up overnight. Thats 'the market', thats how the market works. In one swoop, Marlaina Smith canceled 40 billion dollars worth of renewable energy projects. Alberta just had -45 degree blackouts, and 33,000 job losses in the last 3 months. Thats just one premier, in one province making one decision - 40 billion dollars and 33,000 direct jobs.
To those of you who donate to Food Banks and / or Volunteer your time to help run them; you are "Good People"!
You are the best among us and do so not for the notoriety it may bring, but rather because you care for your fellow Man.
I applaud you for living your convictions and showing us the way.
Next stop Venezuela, thanks Ontario and Quebec.
Also BC and the Maritimes.
Count how many people have gotten their snow tires changed. Look at the gas pump before you fuel up and look around to see how people can only fuel up 5-$10 tops to run their car. Look at fast food places to see there are no line ups. There is more security at grocery stores than a bank has. I would be delusional if I didn't notice what is going on.
Delusional or willfully ignorant. I know many people who get angry when confronted with reality that triggers tangential guilt.

Nothing a billion dollar donation to Ukraine won't solve~.
Before Trudeau & this Liberal/NDP socialist coaltion, things were just fine
No it wasn't. We're still paying the for the Conservative debt of $1.1 Trillion dollars. That's why they dumped the GST tax onto Canadians.
@@maryjeanjones7569
Yes it was. And Mulroney's GST was in response to Trudeau Sr.'s infaltion and out of control spending.
Thank the liberal voters who don’t understand economics in the slightest.
Building back better like dear leader told you would happen. It's all in the book.
This is all solved very easily - only people that pay income tax and do NOT work directly for any government body should be allowed to vote Federally or Provincially (Exception: Military Personnel, for obvious reasons). Period.
Hidden? I don't think so. People are literally telling you, while you blatantly ignore it. That isn't hidden, it's just not caring
Went for a bike ride the other day in our small town and marvelled at all the homeless people living in tents. The kind of results you can expect from people who pat themselves on the back for raising immigration numbers to record highs with zero plan to house anyone but at least the elderly have "free" dental care now.
This is what the federal government GREAT EFFORTS to provide such a mess for Canadians. More taxes and give away to foreign countries like Ukraine, etc...
I can't afford, like most of what's on that list!
Stop paying taxes and you'll be a lot richer
Property tax increased by 7% compared to last year XDXD. Is this joke?
9.5 in Toronto!
Canada is very expensive
I'm living in vocal poverty, they don't care
This is what happens when countries follow the US into senseless unwinnable war. I wish Canada and Europe would break from America.
We've got very similar problems with poverty and food bank uses in Britain.
Sucks making more than 50k a year and still living in poverty because my industry is located in toronto and my rent is 50% of my pretax income. FML
I've been going to the food bank here in Cape Breton N Sydney since last fall because the CRA went into my bank account and took my entire life savings for a debt turns out I didn't even owe.
And when CTV news came to interview us about our community garden which I manage I was encouraged to not reveal that I was still dependent on the Food Bank's assistance.... Which really shook me
😲
Boeing CEO makes $35M a year. What is his tax bracket? I charge people my time according to what others get paid for their time per hour. How much is that?
Boeing's CEO doesn't live here.
Right. We need MORE government programs to end the problems caused by too much government. It wasn't like this in 2015. I wonder what changed in 2015......
Thank a liberal.
Let's see how Toronto votes on Tuesday then we'll know if they have learned anything
Thank you Liberal voters
Canadian born go hungry, receiving Once a month only ONE bag of food that lasts a couple days

And who is going to take the responsibility for this?
hmmm...let me guess .....NO ONE!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I keep waiting to run into the eight out of ten Canadians who get more back and I never do
Yeh raise the min wage result in raised inflation, and decrease in cdn currency, companies had to layoff due to increased labor cost, and outsource the labor to other countries. This increase the unemployment rate to now 6.3%, and decreasing the interest rate further lowering the value of cdn currency, which contributes to more inflation...
I am cure from liberals, thanks justin
Go to a food bank and most of the people there are immigrants taking advantage of the free food
I support a guaranteed basic income, knowing i would very likely not qualify.
I can tell my community is suffering because of my neighbors who can't afford to participate in it.
Universal Basic Income already exists in Canada. It's called Guaranteed Income Supplement and is available for low income seniors over 65. They could start lowering the age every year or so until every Canadian was covered. But, if we keep handing out more tax cuts for the wealthy, it may never happen.
You can lead by example and go down to a food bank and give them your cash.
@@Susan.Lewis.
But if you keep raising taxes driving out productivity and the middle class into the ground, the UBI experiment will be short-lived.
@@GotoHere I don't have to go anywhere. I just donate from home and they give me a tax receipt. So, some of the money I just donated comes back to me as a deduction from the Income Tax I owe. You could say I choose what charity I want the Government to support.

But yet Canada's national obesity rrate is 30%...the math does not add up.
“Why is rent so high?”
“What’s that? More immigrants? Done.”
Thank-you JT
And I keep hearing Trudeau has not accomplished anything...this is the goal people.
Anyone who sees this and goes pointing fingers is not getting it. Who cares who did this, if you actually care about people start commenting idk maybe ways to help people.
You say you care, show it
We need a rental cap and housing buying regulations bad.
We already have that.
Thanks to Trudope!!!!
Trudeau isn’t 100% to blame… but it’s pretty close.
Maybe some "Ukraine-bound war funds" should be kept right here to help those in our very own backyard 🤔?

we are taxed way too much at every level. reducing taxes would help everyone immediately
Owners do what they want and maximize investment any way they can. The conservatives are the 'market' party. So while the liberals have been no great heck, the conservatives are now WAY worse.
Rent control does not work. Your Premier had every good reason not to bring it in.
Capitalism keeps doing its thing, Canadians blame immigrants and taxes. K.
Get a new script and get a job or start your own company.

And we need 1,000,000 new people every 2-3 years, while millions of Canadians live in poverty and without job.
we do because no one has any kids and we need people to work and grow the economy
@@rv2167people can't afford kids. It's called a vicious circle. Young people can barely afford a studio condo ... Where do you put the kids ?????
@@rv2167 Immigrants burn out too and become then less productive, so maybe its time to focus on how employees are treated. Treating employees with reasonable pay and time off as in Europe to prevent chronic burnout and productivity decline is critical in my opinion.
They are about 25 to 30 percent more productive than us in France and Germany where people actually discuss their concerns as I read. Businesses might benefit immensely too from higher productivity. We can end this chronic burnout cycle that is stagnating the economy and hurting living standards. But we just need to stop doing nothing and make solutions. Just my opinion.
@@andrews6617ppl got no time to give kids as women like to work and day care cost 1200$ a month per one child and average income is like 2000$ a month so only one option stay happy on husband income until you get 3 kids give them time and when kids get 18 then do some jobs that's a solution every canadians Make 3 kids then government don't need immigrants

Went to a fancy organic store, was shocked to see across the street a massive line up at a church run food bank, mostly elderly. I was ashamed. What happened to our country!
Trudolf got elected
People could at least afford to live when Harper was PM. Now we've had 8 years of the Little Emperor and look at the decrepit state that Canada is in.
He warned Canadians before he left to get their finances in order, get rid of credit debt and start living within their means and the masses gave it no notice or concern.
The 1980s Recession was caused by the Conservative government. Companies closed one after another, thousands of Canadians out of work. They brought in the GST tax to pay down their $1.1 Trillion Dollar debt which we are still paying for. People had a difficult life under the Conservatives due to lack of income and little money. They also cut the Child Benefit paid to low income families. They were a total Disgrace!
@@maryjeanjones7569
How so? The Liberals and Pierre Trudeau were in charge for most of the early 1980's.
Increase debt, increase taxes, decrease fertilizer use, limit peoples ability to work and go deeper into debt during covid, print money like its going out of style, create a housing crisis, bring in an unsustainable amount of immigrants who cannot afford to live and support their families with minimum wage jobs. Budgets will balance themselves and 9 years of idiocy making life more expensive for Canadians...

Universal Basic Income and/or MORE Gov't programs is NOT the answer - it is a mere bandaid fix and the antithesis of what we need in this country - we need LESS Gov't and LESS taxes. We need citizens that are able to be reliant on themselves, NOT Gov't.
this is correct
Please point me to a country that has less government involvement, less taxes, but better outcomes for the population. There's a reason why all the well off countries that are idolized in Europe have a robust government and high taxes, because Its better than the alternative.

Yeah other people’s money is what everyone needs. Do these people not realize that right now socialism or UBI is not the answer.
