Midi looping Acid Pro 9 Make sure snapping is enabled in the options menu. Open new midi track. Assign vst/virtual synth. Arm track for record. Play MIDI riff track. Try to place entire riff in chopper. Note: There is a glitch that requires you to open a sacrificial MIDI track under the new MIDI track you just created. You can’t get the entire MIDI riff to appear in the chopper until you click onto and off of this sacrificial track. Then you can send the entire MIDI riff to the chopper. I don’t know why this is a thing. Close the new sacrificial MIDI track once the entire riff appears in the chopper Use the chopper to get MIDI riff to loop, if there is a weird popping noise at the end of the loop while it’s in the chopper, it will be smoothed out when it’s chopped to the new track. As long as you select 10ms smoothing In the options menu. “Chop to new track” it will automatically open a new MIDI track. It needs a unique file name to open properly, do not let it try to overwrite an old track file or it won’t work. You may need to zoom in or out of the track to get the riff to paint in properly. Zooming all the way out will give you a big gap on each loop, zooming in too far, will create lots of miss timed loops, or blank tabs. Zoom in or out till the loop works correctly. Make sure the MIDI tempo on the MIDI controller is set the same as the DAW tempo, if it’s an arpeggiated riff. If it’s different, madness will ensue. Close out original riff track. Select all on track and then “join” the loops by clicking “join”. Copy and paste chunks and join till you have enough length, it may be necessary to zoom in and carefully butt the new track piece to the original piece before clicking “join”. Freeze midi track. And that’s how it’s done. It only took two days to figure it out. This was really awful to learn, and I actually printed the entire 266 page manual out and studied it like a university text book. This idiotic procedure is not written in the manual. This is an epic goat show. Thanks Magix

In all the videos that I’ve seen of acid, I haven’t seen anything related to accessibility for blind people. When it was cakewalk, Sonar, or the other mutation it has undergone, we used to be able to manipulate it with ease. Do we have those choices in this new acid??

You can not import mp4 videos. In acid pro 7 you can. I used that feature, to crop out certain sounds in movies, like fx, or vocal samples, phrases from movies. I have Magix Vegas 14, I can that in the video editor, it doesn't matter to me, but it's just another step for tracking on the fly.
can somebody help? it keeps streching my audio to match the speed of the song, but its REALLY bad at it. it speeds it up or slows it down like crazy and i cant figure out a way to fix it.

I can't find a single discussion about this anywhere, and it's really causing problems while learning the software. They show up occasionally, for some buttons, but it's entirely inconsistent which ones they'll show up for, for how long, and when.
PLEASE someone make a tutorial on how to use the Freedrum AcidPro kit..Not everyone who buys the kit is a music software and production graduate with all this MIDI and DAW etc...I'm just a drummer who wants to go off and not piss the family off on my real kit. No one is buying the upgrades. So they came up with the idea to change the look and call it "The come back" to trick the new users. I'm a Cubase, Reason and FL studio user. Acid is way behind. Magix is killing Sony Acid. If developers put hard work on Soy Acid. Sony Acid would become powerful amongst its competitors.
Rofas Colas is right. I have been using acid since Acid Pro 4 . I am still using 7 and is identical to 8. Sidechaining is possible if you assign buses like A , B ..etc to individual channels and then use a sidechain compressor. However it is super counter intuitive and it slows down the workflow like hell. The sound engine, the main compressor is still the same ...and unfortunately it sounds awful. My old acid projects won't fully load as various pieces are not recognized by 8. It's just a huge let down, i have been using their product for almost 2 decades, and still...they give nothing back. The good thing is that after years and years of just waiting ...this release convinced me to move to ableton 10 ...and boy am i happy !
@tweaksism i totally agree, its just acid pro 7 with a new skin, so disappointed considering magix is known for their amazing sound engine in seq and samplitude, they really have done nothing and i feel like ive been ripped off for buying it. Plus its buggy.
I really need to learn how to speak like this more than I need to learn about acid pro which i have been using since ph1. i didn't really rate acid pro 8 and so I am now unsure about getting 10. acid 7 was best release imo. by that point sony had took over from sonic foundry and took all the bugs out from the stuff they added in 5 and 6..acid pro 8 was a real let down for me losing all sonys plug ins, colour fixed to dark and then crashes all the time so I went back to acid pro 7.. dunno why i even bothered with 8 as nothing new was added to it. it claimed to add beatmapper and 64 bit surround sound and support for vst but all of this was already in acid 7.. i didn't see anything in this video that wasn't already in acid pro 7. don't waste time with acid pro 8. skip this version and go straight to 10.. or find a copy of 7..would love to try acid 10, but not willing to take risk when i have a version that works fine..
Acid Pro 8 has a problem, it does not allow import of mp4. I make video for my tracks and import the video into Acid to line up video and music track. Any video has to be in AVI, I still kept Acid Pro 7, which it imports mp4 just fine.
ACID as other ex-Sony products needs the install of the plugin that makes you read and make the codec of mp3 and mp4. You may need to reinstall it or ask for support or, if you are lucky, it gets unlocked on its own as you work with it.
Fuck Acid I was thinking about getting this just for the hell of it but wanted to call technical support first because even in the demo version when I went to save a session it said “temporary directory is low on space” and wouldn’t let me save even though I have a 8tb drive in there and a fresh new drive. They don’t answer at tech support the phone will ring and a prompt comes on and then you can’t even leave a voicemail for someone to get back to you. Terrible service. Switch over to Studio One 4. I’m trying to learn that DAW and its powerful and has frequent updates and tutorials. Never again with Acid.
