RC RACER 88 if jeff gordon races under the same championship rules as dale then he would have the same amount of championships as dale therefore that argument is invalid. Also jeff gordon definitely faced better competition than dale, including his teammate, Jimmie johnson, who won 5 straight championships and 7 in total.

When the 2011 championship happened I was happy but I don't think I appreciated it fully. Now in the 9 years since not one of my sports teams has made a championship. Not the Cowboys not the Brewers not ths Bucks not the Badgers (except one basketball championship appearance) If any of those teams won I would legit cry but considering that I cried when Tony won in 2016 at Sonoma after all that he went through if he won another Championship I would have cried tears of joy for hours. • @2j1n12

The whole 2015 season just felt fake, rigged, and like NASCAR just wanted all of these things to happen beforehand, meaning they probably put together a script of how THEY wanted the season to go before the season started.
    - NASCAR: Every driver must attempt to qualify for EVERY RACE to make the chase/playoffs
    - Also NASCAR: They just let Kyle Busch in the playoffs despite him missing a third of the season, and he wins the championship.(Only because they let him)
    - Talladega fall, they just ditch the 3 GWC rule, and end the race after only 1 attempt. And they award the win to Joey Logano even though DALE EARNHARDT JR WAS IN FRONT WHEN THE CAUTION CAME OUT!
I'm a Kevin Harvick fan, and Harvick deserved that championship more than Kyle did.
All in all, everything about that season felt pre-scripted, fake, and rotten.
But even after the fiasco that was 2015, I still love NASCAR. I hope we never see another season like this again.

    • @DL-nn1ws
      @DL-nn1ws 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Addressing the Talladega situation, Dale Jr actually was behind Logano when the caution came out. That can be seen quite clearly. What did happen was, they held out the caution until he was no longer in front. And well.... Harvick would have been a deserving champion but you can clearly see him squeeze Trevor Baynd into the wall. He wrecked him to preserve his spot. That’s... well.... dirty and unsportsmanlike. They only minimally “acceptable” case for wrecking someone is if it isn’t intentional (moving someone out of the way but the driver spins, for example) on the last lap for the win

I’m not gonna lie, the 2015 season might not have been the best, but I think it had the best Final Four out of this playoff format. Maybe not statistically, but everyone had a story coming into that race. Harvick was the defending champion. Truex was the ultimate underdog. Kyle Busch was trying to win after his injury. And Gordon was trying to win in his final season in the sport. I absolutely loved the Final Four for 2015. Great work on the video though!

I feel like the fact that Kyle Busch was able to win the championship in 2015 shows off one of the benefits of the playoff format. The champion should be the best driver of the year, and whether or not you're forced to miss races doesn't change that. Also, I can guarantee that if a more popular driver won a championship after they missed races, people would see it the same way. If you need an example, just look forward one season and see how people reacted to Tony Stewart's win at Sonoma.

Personally I think that 2015 should've been Kevin Harvick's championship. Though he did only win 3 times, he:
A: Was very unlucky to not win more (led the most laps at Watkins Glen before running out of gas on the last lap, dominated the second Loudon race before running out of gas with 3 to go, dominated the first Michigan race before cutting a tire shortly before rain ended the race, and dominated the second Phoenix race before pitting shortly before the race-ending caution came out). Realistically, he should've won like 6-7 times.
B: Finished in the top three in more than half the races, scored 23 top five finishes, and finished in the top 10 in all but eight races.
C: Led 2294 laps, the most laps in a single season since Jeff Gordon in 2001.
What he did at Talladega was awful, but it shouldn't undo the many accomplishments of the season.

The fact that Kyle Busch needed a waiver to even get in the Chase was ridiculous, Kyle was good enough to get in even without a waiver. But I still don't agree with the choice to do that, yes Kyle won it fair and square but I don't have to like it. While I do argue Kyle Busch’s 2015 title is an asterisk as someone of a Kyle Busch fan myself. He was forced to miss the first 11 races of the season as a result of his injuries. It wasn’t his decision that he would eligible for the Chase if was in the top 30 that was NASCAR. As previously said while yes Kenseth’s revenge was totally justified and possibly for the suspension that Jeff Gordon would’ve deserved but didn’t was not only to Bill France son Brian France Jr and NASCAR’s higher ups being inconsistent on penalties but also even if Jeff Gordon was clearly at fault like 2012 Phoenix. They spared him because, he was popular and showed there was some biased between drivers.
But on the other hand Busch deserved the 2015 championship. He did what he was supposed to do. Stayed out of trouble as best he could except the first couple of races where he did crash and some poor finishes which affected his average race result. The fact that he was able to get through to the final 4 where it’s the first to the flag and he won it outright.
But really the main factor into why 2015 could arguably be a bad season was just down to NASCAR shooting themselves in the foot.

Kyle Busch is an unpopular driver BECAUSE he's a great driver and has been good from the start. People who hate him will say it's for other reasons but that's just a similar excuse as the ones used for other drivers who were hated the same way. Other drivers who were hated from the start of their careers for the same reason include but are not limited to Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Darrel Waltrip, Tony Stewart, etc. The fact of the matter is that all of those drivers weren't fully appreciated until late in their careers or until they were over because then those fans realized the sport of NASCAR is much better with them in it.

I never really noticed this stuff because during this period I was a diehard Josh Wise fan (I was a fan before the Dogecoin thing btw) and watched him drive 35th on RaceView all race long.
I also hated this season, not for bad racing, but for Josh Wise-related reasons. His team, Phil Parsons Racing, was going up at the start of the year. A week after a top 10 at Dega, they sold their entire team to Premium Motorsports. During this part of the season, I saw the most infuriating race I’ve ever seen for a Wise fan. After he dodged the big one in the 2015 Coke Zero 400, his battery decided to die in turn 1. Because a wreck had just happened (in turn 4, not turn 1 where he was), NASCAR towed him to the garage and made him go to the care center. They fixed the battery very quickly, but Josh was in the care center for no reason and they lost an additional 6 laps waiting. During those 6 laps I heard his entire team call NASCAR out for their BS. “We fixed the car but we don’t have the driver! WTAF?!” Next week Premium apparently had some plans that Josh didn’t agree with causing him to leave right after his teammate Brendan Gaughan left because the cars sucked. This started the end of his career as he found basically no rides other than TMG and a few races with Go Fas, who he finished the season with.
Then came Dega where he became another one of the FRM 34 car’s drivers that year. Ran decently well but had 2 pit road penalties putting him a lap down. He got one back but the 2nd penalty trapped him. The 135+ laps of green racing didn’t help either. In the final GWC, Josh was the first car a lap down. Since NASCAR made their stupid 1 GWC fake restart calls, they didn’t let him get his lap back for the 2nd restart (not that it would’ve mattered since Harvick wrecked everyone).

Clear as day, turned right into Bayne to send him around. It was the only way for him to move on in the Chase, it's hard to really give him any benefit of the doubt. KyBu, personally I think he earned that title no matter what. Let's say hypothetically the injury never happened and then everything played as was, he still wins the championship regardless. Granted, I know the ruling at the time was that you had to attempt to qualify for every race to be considered eligible for the title, I think his injury was so unbelievably out of his control I can't fault NASCAR for granting the waiver as they did.

As well as have a summer break from racing and comeback when the playoffs begin. With the older (2011) Chase points format, 2015 could of been an awesome headline with 9 drivers in having a chance to mathmaticly win the championship. Of course NASCAR in a way is a gigantic case of heroes vs villians depending on who you like and hate and it isn't wrong to cheer for or not like certain drivers no matter how popular they are. But sometimes you have to be realistic, Kyle Busch was first hated for the 2008 Richmond race when Kyle Busch got loose and spun out Dale Jr but a year earlier when Dale Jr wrecks Kyle Busch at Kansas most say it was an error by Jr. Another case it people complaining about Kyle Busch winning the title for not running the whole season but NOBODY says ANYTHING when Red Byron, Bill Rexford, Herb Thomas, Tim Flock, Buck Baker, Rex White, Ned Jarrett, Joe Weatherly, David Pearson, Bobby Isaac, Lee Petty, and Richard Petty won championships without running the whole season. Plus Tony Stewart technically didn't run the whole 2002 season, Stewart had to sit out the last like half of the Bristol spring race from injuries but because he followed the rules by starting the race he got credited the points. Yet people despise it when Kyle Busch followed the rules by getting in the top 30, win a race to win the title. True 2015 has a bunch of bad spots but not as bad as people sometimes make it out to be.

2019 is a better season than 2014. IMO. 2015 had some great paint schemes.

I agree so much with your opinion. My first NASCAR race was at Talladega in the fall of 2015 and I think I was unlucky to go there. Worst race ever.

For me, the worst part of the season was the complete absence of parity. While the huge gap between 'haves' and 'have nots' has been an issue for years, this was the absolute nadir. Only five organizations won a race, tying 1974 for the record low and Kyle Larson's run at Bristol was the only time all year that a driver outside the overall top 12 led a significant number of laps. Truex winning at Pocono was really the only highlight for those of us who don't like Gibbs, Hendrick, SHR or Penske. The various fusterclucks were a minor issue comparatively.

That Logano/Kenseth drama was literally the only thing that brought me back into the fold. Great for ratings too, even ESPN was talking about itm

I hated and loved it at the same time. Hated it because Kyle was gone for so long to start due to injury, but to be able to fight back and return to a win was very emotional! And to actually go on that run and make the chase felt like it couldn’t get better from there.....then it did! I do agree though that some fans question its legitimacy but like Smoke said, why would you even ask a question about an old rules package that doesn’t apply anymore (I’m paraphrasing). The rules are the rules and to climb out of the hole he was in was a joy to watch! I did what to see Gordon win that one and it obviously would have been the most popular win, but to finally see my favorite driver from he time I was a kid (2004/2005) til then finally win the championship was amazing.

Reading the comments is interesting. Most people love the 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016 while they hate 2010, 2013 and 2015. Its hard to believe that one year sucks, the next is amazing and then it sucks after that again. You typically don't hear about such inconsistency with the 2000's and definitely not the 90's. I personally enjoyed much of the decade minus stage racing, the Kevin Ward incident(which was a bad look for the sport) and Kenseth's suspension.

2011 was the best ending of a season in the 2010s because of Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards battling it out for the championship

I believe the whole 2015 season was scripted because I mean... come on... no one thought Busch actually deserved the championship let alone the playoffs. NASCAR just wanted “their” man to come out on top.

The only races I watched in 2015 was the both the Dega races and Martinsville where Logano was taken out. Lowering the HP was such a bad move still to this day.

Racing is with the times. Times change. Change with it or get left behind. Plus we miss Gordon, the GOAT! Kyle shouldn't have been able to run for the cup.
