    Thanks for the review, as I was wondering about this hotel. Unfortunately that price is The Killer.

    If someday we make a partnership that shampoo name is a good idea! Without the final "T" GILCHRIST turns GILCHRIS (Gil + Chris) my and your first names! I hope OC Girl don't get jealous because of that...

    $500 a night..I guess I need to do a couple of extra lines on the Lottery...Japan is a majestic place and the people extrodinary..

    It's a lovely hotel and since it is pricey, I can only afford one night. When I travel to Japan, I book it for the night I arrive. It's a nice treat after a long flight to take Narita Express straight to Tokyo Station and know that inside the station, there are lots of restaurants to choose from and Ramen Street of course! The next morning, you can have the fabulous buffet breakfast, buy a bento and hop on the Shinkansen. So convenient!

      stupid question... did you tip the bellperson?

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! And no... Japan doesn't really do tipping. They find tips to be insulting actually.

    • @MatthewChidester
      @MatthewChidester 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that's what I thought - (I'm glad they don't do that! I...was a stupid american and tipped when I was in japan 10+ years ago..) anyway thanks awesome video :)

    That hotel is so nice! The most confusing hotel I went to is The Sandymount Hotel in Dublin. It had two elevators and four floors. Elevator A lead to floor 1 and 3 and elevator B lead to floor 2 and 4.

    🙋‍♀️Thank You very much for your video of Tokyo Station Hotel. I'll be going to Tokyo (17th to 22nd May, 2018). As I am on a budget tour, I can't afford to stay in this lovely but pricey hotel.
    🌸🌸However, thanks so much for taking the effort to film the Tokyo Station Hotel and its surroundings. Your video is important indeed, and provides advanced info for first-time visitors like me to Japan. 谢谢您!

    Beautiful building! I bet you can't listen the trans from the bedroom. Japanese (and me) don't like noise...

    I’ve got a night booked for my final night in Japan (in October). Guess I’m lucky the yen is weak right now LOL.

    I'm a little disappointed you didn't get a room overlooking the inside of the station. That would make it worth $500 for me!
    Also, at 1:26 I'm pretty sure you're pointing at the entrance that's for the exclusive use of the Emperor. ;)

      This is the only one above/inside Tokyo Station

    Thanks for the review. Unfortunately I am still a bit confused about what makes this "The Best Hotel In Tokyo". What was great about the location? What was great about the room compared to other Tokyo hotels? What makes it "the best" as opposed to other hotels you stayed in? I got that it's historic, rooms rather large (especially by Tokyo standards I guess), and you felts the room was not "plastic-y or modular". Is that all that made it the best hotel?

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Best by location.. but you found my other review for the hotel Century Southern Tower.. we stay there more often as the price is about half of the Tokyo Station hotel

    This could not have come at a better time as I plan to go to Japan soon but this hotel might be slightly out of my price range! How are you able to fund all your travels?! Do you have a video on this?

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kevin Crisps By saving money? :). I also use alot of airline and hotel points.. I don't have a video on that but I probably should :)

    Love your videos! I will be taking my daughter (18) to Tokyo in January and am debating between the Tokyo Station Hotel and Park Hyatt...which would you choose?

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Craig Heaton I haven't stayed at the Park Hyatt -- but location wise the Tokyo Station hotel has a MUCH better location. The Park Hyatt is quite a distance from the nearest train station (Shinjuku).. only con of the Tokyo Station Hotel is that it doesn't have a view from the rooms because it's a historic low rise building. I hope you and your daughter enjoy!

    wow cool! i always walk passed this place and wondered how it looked like. i always love the marunouchi area. some parts of taipei reminds me of marunouchi when i visited. i love Kitte, the Marunouchi, and Shin Marunouchi, Oazo, Otemachi station area, and the Marunouchi Bricke Square. That hotel i would say is in a very very convenient location. Lots of places to eat nearby, and walking distance to a lot of shopping areas.

      @YellowProductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jaysato Me too! And know we both know! :). I agree, the Marounouchi area is pretty cool. Modern and relaxed.. lots of public areas to chill out.

    Thanks for the review. I was curious about this hotel, but already knew I couldn't afford it. ☹️ Do you know if all of the rooms have windows to the outside? Or some to the outside and some inside Tokyo Station.

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ASiteSeer Hmmm.. not sure on that one.. I know my room had a window outside.. there are rooms are both sides of the building so it seems like some would look inside

    It should be noted that the quote "Old" entrance of the hotel is actually now reserved for the Emperor of Japan for when he catches the train around Japan.

      Hi Gina.. yes.. we've been to Kyoto.. unfortunately it was before we were really "serious" about TH-cam.. so the best video from Kyoto is the one we made about the Kyoto train station: th-cam.com/video/4pAKqQ0YEOA/w-d-xo.html

    Been there done that. The room are small and layout is strange, for that kind of money I would stay in the Palace hotel.

    • @michael57603
      @michael57603 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Palace Hotel (in Marunouchi) is far more expensive, this is a false comparison.
