    Allie you're absolutely fabulous. Thanks

    The 5D IV was an amazing camera with the best IQ of any Canon DSLR imho. The only issue I had with it was a hit/miss autofocus, especially with Sigma Art lenses. The R6 II though, has similar IQ (maybe better) but way better autofocus and video.

    What about a macro lens for ring shots? Do you use them?

    • @alliechambersphoto
      @alliechambersphoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! With the nature of the weddings I shoot, I am usually not trying to add more gear than necessary, so I don't shoot with a macro lens. I also don't have a ton of macro photos in my portfolio or galleries because that's not necessarily a style that I lean towards, but I know a ton of photographers that love the have a macro lens!

    I agree completely on the 35mm 1.4L II! Awesome lens. I use the R5 and R6, but my only RF lenses are the RF 50 1.2, and the 16mm 2.8. In EF, I’m still using 24-70 II, 70-200 II, 35 1.4, 100mm macro, 16-35 f/4, 85mm 1.4L IS. Enjoyed your video!

    • @alliechambersphoto
      @alliechambersphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been wanting to check out the RF 50 since I only have the EF, so maybe I'll have to give that a shot! That all sounds like such a great set up. Thank you for sharing and watching!

    Great setup! I just second shot a wedding with my D850. 24-120 f4 which turned out to be a great versatile lens for. Though mainly inside a Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro serving the purpose of the 85mm. Can't wait to pick up a mirrorless now.

      That sounds like a great set up! I am always a huge fan of versatility, so that sounds like it’s right up my alley. Mirrorless is so fun too! I think you’ll love it!

    The "nifty fifty" is the Canon f/1.8 $125.00 lens. It's always been called the "nifty fifty" and the f/1.2 50mm lens is usually called the 50mm L lens. Huge difference.

    • @alliechambersphoto
      @alliechambersphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! I might have mentioned that in an earlier edit before having to really cut it back for the sake of the video being too long, so thank you for making that clarification. The 50mm 1.8 is a wonderful lens, and I used it for the first two years of my career.

    Great setup, I use Canon Eos R with 24-105 with RF 50mm 1.8 and thinking to add 85mm 1.2 for creamy bokeh I think that's all I would ever need. Loving Canon gear so far I switched from Nikon Z6 to Eos R.

      Congratulations on starting your side hustle in photography! Nashville is a great place for it. I'd love to give some advice on starting out! I have two more video themes queued up, and I release videos each Wednesday. I'll plan on making a video specifically about this topic if that's okay!

      @alliechambersphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot believe I missed the bag part! I am just now starting to outline more for my videos in advance before recording so that I can hopefully avoid missing parts like that! I'm going to make a video on the non-camera gear things I keep in my bag for a wedding day, and I'll have to add the bags in that video. I use a Pelican 1535Air, and then I use the Think Tank Backstory backpack!

    Isn't the RF 28-70 F2 L almost as heavy as the EF 70-200 F2.8? How do you feel about the weight & girth of the RF 28-70 F2 L? Would you ever travel with it?

    • @alliechambersphoto
      @alliechambersphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is just about the same weight as the 70-200, and I'll be the first to say that is is absolutely not ideal 😂 I usually use the 70-200 only for ceremonies, but the 28-70 has been SO versatile to have throughout a wedding day. While it is a heavy lens, it has taken the weight off my shoulders of carrying two camera bodies with different prime focal lengths. Aside from the weight, I'm really loving everything the 28-70! Thanks for watching! :)

    • @gerrya2133
      @gerrya2133 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They can be about the same weight, but the balance and center of mass is a factor as well. Because the 70-200 is longer, the center of mass is further out from the grip, creating additional strain on your wrists.
      As heavy as the 28-70 is, it feels lighter using it if you add weight by attaching the battery grip. That pulls the center of mass back more towards where you hold the camera. Instead of my wrists contributing a lot to holding up the camera, I can feel the much larger muscles of my upper arms and back now contributing to holding up the camera.

    • @alliechambersphoto
      @alliechambersphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gerrya2133 That's such a great perspective on the battery grip! I might have to try that out! Thanks so much for your insight!
