As we mark the beginning of this year's 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) under the theme,"#NoExcuse. UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls", the Institute for Young Women’s Development (IYWD) invites you to revisit, learn and engage with us on the different forms of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAW/G) and call for an end to VAW/G.
Since we premiered the ‘Ndafunga Kure’ movie series with Just Associates, Zimbabwe Coalition of Debt and Development (ZIMCODD) and Southern Africa Parliamentary Support Trust (SAPST), available data still shows that globally, one woman or girl is killed every 10 minutes by their intimate partner or family member. GBV remains a cause for concern requiring everyone’s attention and action to create a violence free society where women and girls enjoy their lives
