I actually miss how alot of the physics worked in 4 compared to 5. Besides the offset camera I really like the driving mechanics of 4, it wasn't as fast paced but I felt like you had alot more control and drifting was fun as hell. The ragdoll physics were alot more fun too, maybe I'm a sadistiv monster but I loved the facts that NPCs would put their hands on the hood if you slowly drove into them and eventually trip and slowly get sucked under the car, and the ability to shove NPCs as well as punching/fighting them. There's one long staircase with a landing in the middle and I could spend hours just hanging around at the top of that staircase and shoving NPCs down the stairs. If they tumbled just right they would tumble into their feet and launch themselves like 20-30 feet into the air, it was very entertaining for me lol
Not a single word about GTA IV's very convincing abs algorithm implementation ;/ in slow motion you can see it working properly , it affects the handling, doesn't work al low speed. In older cars wheels lock while hard braking making a car unable to turn. Tyre locking depends on grip (when you brake while exiting a hill, a the tyre won't lock because of higher grip/down force).
Fun fact. The difference of release time between GTA 3 and GTA 4 is smaller, than it already is between GTA 5 and GTA 6. And obviously, it's getting even larger. That's crazy...

The body roll effect lasts as long as it is under brakes and moving and it ends after the body comes to a full stop, so in GTA 3,VC and SA, the cars have quick breaking, so the body roll will also be quick. That's why the animation lasts for a negligible amount of time.
In the first test for gta 3 and gta vc you used a 4x4 and an anterior traction vehicle, so i think thats why while you hold handbrake you keep going forward, same things happen in gta San Andreas and others, sorry for bad English but im Italian 🙃, nice video anyway
Bonus: in GTA IV if you are in a bus and press and then release the hand brake button you'll hear the air brake. It will sound different depending on how many seconds you press it.
