This album was amazing when it was first released, but it has since taken on a new meaning for me... a very close friend of mine died tragically in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27, just last week. If we ever spoke of M83 it was only once or twice... it was definitely not his preferred choice of music... but for whatever reason I found myself coming back to this album and damn near every song reminds me of him... I am simultaneously overcome with sadness and full of joy for being lucky enough to have known him. Thank you to M83 for making such wonderful music and thank you Brian for being such a great friend. I will miss you forever, brother.

this album gave me the inspiration to pursue my love of film-making, this ambient and heartfelt album gave me my first film idea, and as I am currently in highschool, this album is what I listen to when I'm working on film, I never get tired of the inspiration this album sends out when I listen to it. and perhaps I may end up using this music when I begin working on major films.
M83 has become apart of my everyday lifestyle, and whatever goals that I accomplish towards career, I thank them for that.

I just finished it last night. Man that series spoke to me like no other. It's packaged as anticapitilist/anachist but it's so much more than that. Such a dark and lonely vibe but actually made me feel connected to the world in a more meaningful way.
When this album came out I didn't yet know who Zola Jesus was. Years later I got really into her stuff and saw her live too. She isn't credited for this song on Spotify, and so when I listened to it again the other day for the first time in a long time I was like "holy shit is that Zola Jesus??".... she always sounds incredible

Hands down, this is the best M83 album so far. You guys are so so ahead in the music industry than most of the other artists in the same genre. Your work speaks for itself. I was playing GTA V recently once again and midnight city came to the radio. I had never paid much attention to the song but this time it just struck a cord. I went online to find who were the geniuses behind this. Came across M83 that way.

I fell in love with this girl at the same time as this album. I bought her a teddy bear from the gift shop and gave it to her at the ICU & she was so happy to see me. I was so happy she was alive. Later I loaned someone this album and she died so I guess I never got either back. I can't help but wonder how things would be if she were here & we were together again.
May be by doing as if... As if she we're there, what will you do if she is here, right now? Will you attract it? Will you attract things or people with that same vibration, in a différent way in the matter, in the out side World? Can the outside World be, as a reflect without any believe within as if it is true. Can it happen again ? If yes, it is a matter to act as if it is true. There are THOUSANDS of M83 fans that don't really know the music or the story at all. Like you, it's not my favorite album from them (I adore the first 4) but this was my gateway album into the world of dream pop and, eventually, shoegaze, which I am very grateful for. At the same time, it's my favorite album of all time because of the insane emotional trip and high energy flow
