Sedangkan yang lain mengatakan, penjajahan dimulai pada 1596 ketika De Houtman bersaudara tiba di Banten. Pendapat kedua sulit disebut sebagai penjajahan, saat itu Cornelis De Houtman datang untuk melakukan penjajakan, belum benar-benar menjajah nusantara. ------------------- Tidak ada satupun wilayah di Indonesia yang benar-benar dijajah selama 350 tahun. Maluku, Banten, atau Jakarta yang menjadi basis terbesar VOC hanya dijajah maksimal selama 340 tahun. Bahkan Maluku atau Ambon baru dikuasai Belanda pada 1630.Tahun 1602 sampai 1942 saat Jepang masuk, Belanda sudah tidak efektif lagi menguasai tanah nusantara. Di luar basis terbesarnya, wilayah-wilayah lain di nusantara dikuasai secara bertahap oleh Belanda mulai abad ke-20 saat kolonialismenya bercorak politik etis. Aceh baru dikuasai pada 1904 dan secara penuh diduduki pada 1912. Sedangkan Bali dikuasai pada 1906. Dengan begitu, Aceh maksimal hanya dijajah 38 tahun dan Bali dijajah 36 tahun. After Japan surrender in world war 2 1945, the Dutch want to re-colonized Indonesia meanwhile Indonesian people already declare the independence of the republic of Indonesia, and because of that the Indonesian war of independence is happened for about 4 years (1945-1949), hundred of thousand Indonesian people are killed during that years, the Netherlands cannot saying that they are save the Indonesian people, what they do is actually securing the Indonesian resources for their interest, meanwhile Indonesian people get nothing, we will still being uneducated people because the Dutch didnt allow Indonesian people get education, we will still being low class citizen in our own land, meanwhile the Dutch, European, and Chinese is high class and middle class citizen. The fact that the Dutch Colonial system is the worst if you compare to other, for example at least the British still give the native people education, but the Dutch?
