Okay, this is probably the first group that had one of its main vocalist at the bottom. Come on, even Soojin had more lines smh. Soyeon's singing parts should have been given to others. Even Shuhua's part literally sounds like her verse in Lion. The chorus could've been split to each member just like in Lion too.
Because soojin has a unique and beautiful voice that suits gidle muchh! And also Soojin has better stage presence that suits the concept well than shuhua, yuqi, and miyeon

tbh i can tell why miyeon dont rly have that many lines in this song. miyeon is a great singer of course but her voice is lighter and honestly doesn't rly suit this song, since it's darker, minnie and soyeon's voice match more. soojin has that sexy voice so again, suits the concept of this song.
im a miyeon biased, and to be honest, ngl she doesnt fit a wild ish vibe and sexy or dark vibe. unlike minnie,soojin and soyeon, they fit these kinds of concepts. while miyeon fits more an elegant but fierce vibe like hann. so i understand why miyeon didnt have lines but to be honest, the music couldve change on the first chorus and soyeon's chorus can be given to miyeon but it aint that easy
1) Yuqi and even Miyeon can do the chorus easily. 2) If Miyeon's voice didn't fit, Soyeon could've make a song which revolves around Miyeon. Idc, even a bside track will do but nope. 3) Miyeon and Yuqi have deep voices, they will slay the chorus. There are 6 parts on all of the choruses, Soyeon could've distributed all of them equally. It's not only about group positions. There are more than group positions. Oh My God is a storyline based song and MV, ("chronologically" this is so important for the MV and the storyline so who will sing in which order is very important too) not a typical song or MV that you'll see. So for a song like Oh My god: It's also about whose "voice" would fit into which part, whose "vibe" would fit into which part, stage presence, who would fit which role in the storyline (for example we all know that Soojin has a sexy vibe and a sexy voice so she had the role that seducing sexy demon; or I think we all agree that Miyoen has innocent and pure looking and has a bright voice, she literally looks like goddess in the mv and it fits her so much etc.) ALSO They million times said that everyone chooses what part they wanna sing. You all pretend like just Soyeon decides line distribution without actually knowing anything. Well do you think their parts fit them so much? For example in EXO, Kai is the center because of dance and promotions but he doesn't get many lines. Nayeon in TWICE is the center with loads of lines and center position in dance.

nah her voice is too pretty. that first "oh my god" has to be raw in order for the song to hit hard. miyeon has a beautiful voice but it wouldn't suit that line, and as a result, the song would fall flat. equal line distribution is not more important than the quality of a song.

I don’t think soyeon should have sung the chorus. She is a great composer/rapper but her voice didn’t fit the sound right. Soojin and Minnie gave it a more soft but dark tone while she was too upbeat. Imagine Yuqi singing that long low note, so good. And miyeon might not have sounded the BEST with her tone during the chorus, but I feel like she could have gotten either one of minnie’s or soyeon’s lines in one of the verses. This song could have been fair but it was poorly distributed. Otherwise, great job to the girls for putting out another amazing song’
This is the first time I've seen a main vocalists have so minimal lines like I get that Minnie has a unique voice no hate but she's all that Soyeon ever uses when it comes to most of their songs. I hope Soyeon would give Miyeon time to shine. It would've been fair if she gave the 'oh my god' parts to Yuqi and Miyeon instead of giving it to herself and Minnie. I've noticed that Idle has been becoming a Soyeon, Soojin, Minnie and friends group like...For real. I love my girls but seeing this made me kind of upset. The lines are still really unfair. In Lion she got 27 seconds so it's a huge difference. Even in Latata she had 17 seconds. Yuqi, Miyeon and Shuhua should have some of Soyeons singing lines

G-idle needs to start utilizing it properly. Both of these girls could each have had Soyeon’s part in the chorus. Soyeon could still keep her lines in the beginning, but she’s BEEN at the top ever since they debuted for lines. I know she makes the songs but other self producing music artists in the kpop industry dont even take all those lines. I would’ve preferred if Shuhua got those lines in the beginning.

I love this group too but this has been bugging me for a while.. It's getting to the point where soyeon is outshining the other girls and Miyeon, Yuqi, and shuhua are not getting a chance to shine and they have been a group for two years already and nothing has changed. Sims Obsessed you’re absolutely right. At first I really loved their songs and being honest this comeback is amazing. But the lines? take Exid for example, yeah their rapper gets a lot of lines but she’s not overshadowing the other members. Vocals get their parts, and the two other members who don’t get that many lines at least get the dance break solo or more screen time. I love Gidle but this excuse that “this part didn’t fit that member” is getting tiring, if it doesn’t fit the member fix it and make it fit. If it gets to the point that THE MAIN VOCALIST gets like 2 lines and the rapper (who happens to be the one writing the song) gets almost 50% of the lines, that’s fucked up. For example in EXO, Kai is the center because of dance and promotions but he doesn't get many lines. Nayeon in TWICE is the center with loads of lines and center position in dance.

nah her voice is too pretty. that first "oh my god" has to be raw in order for the song to hit hard. miyeon has a beautiful voice but it wouldn't suit that line, and as a result, the song would fall flat. equal line distribution is not more important than the quality of a song.
This song only needed to give Yuqi, Miyewon and Shuhua some of the "Oh My God" chorus lines, but instead those were sung by Soyeon

제 주관적인 생각으로는 이 곡에 가장 잘 어울리는 톤으로만 따지면 가장 잘 어울리는 보이스 컬러는 수진입니다.
허나 한가지 컬러로만 곡의 모든 부분을 커버하는 것은 루즈해지죠,
부분적으로 찌르는 톤이나 묵직한 톤이 필요한 부분도 있습니다.
그게 이 곡에서는 훅부분입니다 (oh my god~)
이 부분을 몇번을 제외하고는 다 소연이 담당하죠.
소연의 톤과 발성자체가 상당히 쏘는 경향이 있는데, 이는 청자의 귀에 상당히 강하게 인상을 남기기에 아주 좋은 장점입니다
허나 이게 여러번 반복되면 귀는 이를 자극적으로 여겨 피로감이 급격히 올라갑니다.
(이를 개선하기위해 그런건지,
팩트인지 아닌지는 모르겠지만 이 곡에서 이런 루즈함을 없애기 위해 보편적으로 쓰이는 틀에서 벗어나 다소 특이한 부분에 랩라인(파트)을 넣은 것 같다는 생각이 드는데)
이러한 이유로 보컬도 소연이 주고 랩도 소연이 소화하니
곡 전체에 소연의 쏘는 톤이 지배적이고,
곡의 구성에 소연의 톤이 계속 전개되고 다소 반복되다 보니 뒤로갈수록 새로움이 사라지는 경향이 있다고 느껴졌습니다.
(제가 얘기하는 새로움은 곡의 톤과 보컬 톤의 언밸런스 하지만 듣기좋고 흥미로운 조합을 의도한 것입니다)

훅이 들어가기전에 청자의 관심을 확 끌어야 하기에 텐션이 고조되는 부분이고, 청자들이 그 부분에서 무의식적으로 집중하게되서 그렇게 느끼신것같은데,
냉정하게 말하면 가장 중요하지만 대중들은 이 부분을 누가 했느냐를 기억하기 않기에, 개인적으로 파트분배에 아쉬움이 존재한다고 생각합니다.

I don’t think soyeon should have sung the chorus. She is a great composer/rapper but her voice didn’t fit the sound right. Soojin and Minnie gave it a more soft but dark tone while she was too upbeat. Imagine Yuqi singing that long low note, so good. And miyeon might not have sounded the BEST with her tone during the chorus, but I feel like she could have gotten either one of minnie’s or soyeon’s lines in one of the verses. This song could have been fair but it was poorly distributed. Otherwise, great job to the girls for putting out another amazing song’

This is the first time I've seen a main vocalists have so minimal lines like I get that Minnie has a unique voice no hate but she's all that Soyeon ever uses when it comes to most of their songs. I hope Soyeon would give Miyeon time to shine. It would've been fair if she gave the 'oh my god' parts to Yuqi and Miyeon instead of giving it to herself and Minnie. FYI, Yuqi, Miyeon and Shuhua has the same no. Of lines, the only difference is the time how they sing it. We get used to this kind of video distribution. But for me, the time they got those lines doesn't mean others were really last.
For example,
Soyeon got singing parts and also rap parts, so the time of her rap part is the same as 1 Yuqi's line (I mean the amount of time distributed)
But if you look it literally, by the lyrics, Yuqi has 1 line, Soyeon would probably equal to 2.

I know she makes the songs but other self producing music artists in the kpop industry dont even take all those lines. I would’ve preferred if Shuhua got those lines in the beginning.

I love gidle but I’m getting sick of it Being the soyeon show let the others shine, she writes and produces most of their songs I would expect her to share more with all the members. In the songs it’s always SoYeon and one other members that era. It’s getting repetitive. Love her and no hate just criticism.
I love this group too but this has been bugging me for a while.. It's getting to the point where soyeon is outshining the other girls and Miyeon, Yuqi, and shuhua are not getting a chance to shine and they have been a group for two years already and nothing has changed. I was so excited for this comeback to only been given the same exact thing we've been hearing. I like the song but I'm disappointed in the distribution.

Sims Obsessed you’re absolutely right. At first I really loved their songs and being honest this comeback is amazing. But the lines? take Exid for example, yeah their rapper gets a lot of lines but she’s not overshadowing the other members. Vocals get their parts, and the two other members who don’t get that many lines at least get the dance break solo or more screen time. I love Gidle but this excuse that “this part didn’t fit that member” is getting tiring, if it doesn’t fit the member fix it and make it fit. If it gets to the point that THE MAIN VOCALIST gets like 2 lines and the rapper (who happens to be the one writing the song) gets almost 50% of the lines, that’s fucked up. Again no hate towards G-idle I love the members and I have nothing against Soyeon, it’s the company’s fault in the first place for giving so much power to one person from the beginning.

Just because she writes the songs doesn’t mean she should sing almost all of it. What’s the use of 6 member group if two members are always left behind. It’s either Shuhua, Miyeon or Yuqi. This is why I don’t stan this group. It’s always about Soyeon. She doesn’t even let Miyeon shine. Atleast Shuhua’s lines improved. Yuqi is atleast more popular. What about Miyeon? She can’t even show her vocals that much.

I agree. Soyeon isn't even in the vocal line why she's singing in the first verse? Her rap is already long plus her lines in the chorus. Shuhua, Yuqi or Miyeon should be the ones singing Soyeon's part in the first verse.

I don't know if talking about Miyeon and her less lines will make any difference but all I know is she needs attention like literally in all 4 latest comeback, she is in the bottom 3 in everything..we've been asking for Shuhua's lines and she is finally getting lines but on other hand Miyeon and Yuqi's lines are decreasing every comeback..being the main and lead vocals, they just get the tiniest amount of pre-chorus and that's it not even the chorus..the only time we got was Lion but they both were still in the bottom and we all expected they'll have lines this comback but no, they didn't..Everyone is making an excuse that Minnie suits this concept and therefore is getting these lines and wait patiently Miyeon and Yuqi's era will definitely come whereas we've been waiting for that since their very first comeback and we still didn't get..if that's the thing then why do you have them in the group? And moreover they are not able to show their talents through external activities also so what's point? I'm fed up of all this and being a Miyeon bias it hurts.. It has literally become a group of 3 members because they get the lines, screen time, center like everything..And I know this shouldn't be a reason to hate them, I've been respecting all other members but if this is still going to happen then I'm genuinely sorry but I may not even be able to respect them..

Imagine a main dancer getting more lines than a main vocalist that arguably has the best vocals in this entire group. Or a main rapper that literally has three times the amount of the main vocalist. OR a main vocalist that has completely demoted to sub vocalist/visual when her vocals are clearly the best.

minnie, soojin & soyeon would make a fantastic subunit of gidle, they're great all rounders: but cube made gidle with 6 members, not 3, and all 6 of them should be able to show their abilities without being pushed behind more popular members
I love soyeon, she's my bias in idle, but i believe a part of her singing in the beginning should've been split between other members, like soojin or shuhua. also, soyeon's last chorus should've been given to miyeon or yuqi. the song slaps tho

@@卓杉杉 yup. tbh soyeon was my pick during pd101 so i supported gidle since debut but of course, i love other members too. sooner or later i noticed that soyeon was putting too much highlight on her. i understand that she's the leader, center, main rapper, can sing, she's perfect. but she overshadowed her members when the actual fact is she's the most shining person in the group. she outshined her members by always being a center, chorus for her is a must, other than rap she also sings in the song. in every photoshoot, she always stands at the center. when the screentime and center distribution is out, i guarantee she and minnie got the highest % because i've watched the dance video and i barely see her at the edge

It's not only about group positions. There are more than group positions. Oh My God is a storyline based song and MV, ("chronologically" this is so important for the MV and the storyline so who will sing in which order is very important too) not a typical song or MV that you'll see. So for a song like Oh My god: It's also about whose "voice" would fit into which part, whose "vibe" would fit into which part, stage presence, who would fit which role in the storyline (for example we all know that Soojin has a sexy vibe and a sexy voice so she had the role that seducing sexy demon; or I think we all agree that Miyoen has innocent and pure looking and has a bright voice, she litearally looks like goddes in the mv and it fits her so much etc.) ALSO They million times said that everyone chooses what part they wanna sing. You all pretend like just Soyeon decides line distribution without actually knowing anything. Well do you think their parts fit them so much? If you think so then it's the end of the discussing for me. Remember Oh My God is a storyline based song and MV so "I think" those things are so much important for that song. These are my opinions. I think the first part after minnie's intro could easily have been given to Yuqi, and that Soyeon only sang "oh my god" and the rap part, and that Miyeon sang Oh My God, instead of Minnie.
