I love Vermont! It took me 44 years to finally find my home in Brattleboro, Vermont. I love my home! Sad to see that wonderful sculpture get swept away. Great video, thank you.

in 1938 Brattleboro was Hit Hard by the Great new england Hurricane with wind gusts believe it or not of 150mpr. The Hurricane was Named (The Montreal Express). The Hurricane was starting to go out to sea from the Carolinas and drifted 500 miles out into the Atlantic as meteorologists were positive it was gone out to sea. a day later it started drifting north and when it was about 300 miles from New York. then a high-pressure system turned its Course straight northwest Ramimg into Connecticut with the EYE WALL racing up the Conn-river Valley at 60mpr as a cat 3 and why they used the Montreal Express. at these speeds, this Hurricane had no chance to die out but very slowly. this caused this wind gust in Brattleboro for 4-5 hours of sustained winds of around 70mph. every tree on high street Elliot Street was laying side by side in the streets. Mount W used to have nothing but white Birch Trees the Keene Sentinel Shows a photo of the west side as the trees looked like toothpicks laying flat towards the south. Flooding was Catastrophic with Millions of trees Flattened and many homes taken away blown down or windows blown out. of course the great 1927 Flood. Brattleboro Had its better Days for sure. WE ARE OVER DOO? 6-700 People Lost their Life in Southern New England on that Day.

I grew up near the John Clay creek in Washington County, Irasville. There is a reason the farmers tell stories about the "Mad," River.

Even seeing the videos and pictures it's so hard to imagine. I attended Johnson State College in 83-85' and visited a lot the towns of Montpelier, Waterbury, Barre and I still travel thru VT a lot during the winter months going to Pittsburg, NH. Its such a beautiful state but one thing I've learned going to school in VT, the locals are resilient. Incredible people.

We were in VT 2 weeks ago. VT is a beautiful state but I'm glad we got back home an we weren't stuck there. No way we could have driven from Burlington to Maryland in such conditions. Hope VT recovers quickly.

As of yesterday afternoon, the lake looked high, but hadn't come ashore. Unfortunately, though, the farms in the intervale flooded. I found a quote from Intervale Community Farm manager, Andy Jones. He says: "[T]here was probably a two to three acre patch in the middle of 350 acres in the Intervale that were above water during Irene," Jones said. "This time, it was maybe an acre or something."

I believe the worst damage is in the Montpelier/Barre area and Londonderry/Ludlow area. But towns like Waterbury and Johnson also got hit hard. Have not heard of flooding in St Jay or Newport.

We need to adapt to this new gift of mother nature, but we can also try to cut back on our lifestyles, we could also slow down the rate that the enevatable changes that even denying climate change is the cause it does contrubute to this new way of our weather systems. We could do alot for issues in the world if we humble ourselves claim responsability, make changes and own it as just the best for all attitude. We can do better. GOD BLESS US ALL.

I wish people would not stand in the water barefoot as the water is not safe due to all the chemicals from cars, trucks and farm equipment and who knows what else. I just heard from a friend in Johnson that the waster water treatment facility was totally destroyed. All the waste from that area is now going into the river untreated.

Climate change maybe but the 1927 Food was Bad or worse plus the houses and buildings were not in such locations. The capital was flooded also. Yet Global Weather could be changing as well as Earthquakes and Wildfires. weather does repeat itself every 1-300 years . You forgot to mention the 1938 HURRICANE that Killed 700 People in NEW ENGLAND Vermont was Devastated with many killed and 1000s of Holsteins killed Buildings Flattened and ten million or more other Trees. Brattleboro area being the lowest elevated Town in the State Sustained Hurricane Cat 2-3 WIND GUST OF 150MPR and every white Birch Tree on Mount W was Flat on the ground like a Giant Rowe of toothpicks. Other major Hurricanes like Carol in 53 and Edna in others. We are well over Do? We have not been yet through this type of destruction in 90 years now and seems like the weather going straight back into the years of the 20s through the 50s was very catastrophic.

People are hurting and all you can do is proselytize? Get out of your chair and either send money or volunteer to clean up. As for Him coming soon. I'm 70 and this is the 17th time he is coming soon.
