Well, you know what they say: “One artist’s reject is another artist’s treasure.”
If I have to be honest here. The original design for Baby Bop looks a bit like a pink cow (like Daisy from the 'obscure' British stop motion kid's show, "Astro Farm") crossed 'with' a triceratops.
Still though, you did such a fantastic job with making that puppet. Well done.
The puppet version of the original Baby Bop design you made looks pretty good. Even though she looks like a character you see on Groundling Marsh, rather then Barney
Nice to see how Baby Bop turned from pink to the well-known greenish character, I bet they changed it because they thought that Baby Bop almost haves the same colour to Barney and they didn't need that pinkish colour coming out of her, so they made it green to fit perfectly for the character, the removal of her buck tooth is unknown, but I bet they wanted Baby Bop to look more related to little children.
It says on the wiki, the pink and yellow dinosaurs tooth was scraped because it looked too threatening for a 2 year old.
Honestly, I'm glad we got the Baby Bop we got.

I in love with barney
I Think The Original Pink Baby Bop Is Interesting And I Think It Would Have Been Nice If They Kept It! Considering How Unique Barney’s Costume Design Is (And How Unique Barney Is In General), It Would’ve Been Great To Also Have This Other Distinctive Character Through Baby Bop's Original Costume Design. And I Feel Somewhat Sure That Later On Down The Line, This Also Would Have Effected BJ's Costume Design As Well!

I have to say you did really great on the baby bop that we should have got and pretty good making this a puppet.
Baby Bop is another one of those dinosaur characters that I could relate to even when she is shy but she can do some pretty great things like counting knowing the ABCs Etc However Baby Bob doesn't even know how to count in the HIT Entertainment and sometimes she could be out of character I haven't looked back on one of the episodes from the HIT Entertainment era but I will see how I feel about that anyway Julie Johnson does a pretty good cute voice for Baby Bop.

Just a curiosity, If Baby Bop is Pink and Barney was Dark Blue is there a Concept of BJ like what color was he before he was yellow?

The early design also reminds me of the hippo character in Peter Jackson's R rated Muppets inspired movie, Meet the Feebles.
I just feel like the first version doesn’t fit the Barney theme as well as the new one. It feels like it belongs in a different show

Because they didn’t want them to have any horns, talons , or sharp teeth
