We had taken the car on a joy ride and were over a hundred miles from home. The car was totaled. Very totaled. A bizarre series of events unfolded over the hours that followed, to include an encounter with a psychopath, many collect phone calls, a hitched ride with the psychopath, a hitched ride with a cop, and finally an extraction by a buddy from school that got us the last 20 miles home. In the end we made it home alive and to school on time the next day. The car? Yeah...my buddy's dad reported it stolen as he had no idea where it was the next morning (in a ravine on the Tennessee/Kentucky state line, just short of having gone into a river). The insurance paid for the car and his parents didn't find out the truth until 20 years later. So, Air Supply, All out of Love, man that is one soothing song! Also, seat belts save lives!
