Man, how could I explain.... The translation is "Punch" while in the gym would be "Go to War" or something like a hard sparring session. We also say "Sair na porrada" which means "Get in a fight", and we have to agree that "Porrada" sounds good for anything excited. Haha!
It's just a brazilian slang that we use like if you say it's "porrada" time it means like it's time to kick some butts, or that it's time to get in a brawl fight, like shit just got real. Like the others said it can be used in a lot of situations but it would literally means that it's street fight situation kinda thing, in a jiu-jitsu setting it's time for the real and tough roll.
By the way, I work exactly in this neighborhood. It's about 30 minutes from Copacabana beach. Not "far-far away from the postcard scenary". Shame on you. Do your homework boys, do your homework.
