Interesting stuff. I was literally just starting to research into this during the June wipe, and here you go and made the best guide answering all my questions. Still use your farm timers guide to this day too. Good stuff as always.
Scrap rates are highest when you pair fishing/traps/plants but if you want a little "passive" scrap you always just throw bear meat into traps around your base!
For Rust Console users: wait until the Bait System is aligned with PC, because currently the wait fishing traps and bait works on console is different than PC. That being said, fishing is still viable and one fish trap could be helpful in obtaining bait by gutting fish.
Well damn ill check off 2 things I've never done in my 4.5k hours in one wipe, fishing/traps and farming. Percect semi afk scrap grind I'll do till Thursday to get some BPs before wipe!
You have to be near by to trigger it, but if you just collect it every time you depo you can "passively" farm a decent amount, which is how Blooprint opted to utilize this farm.
wdym? u can catch sharks, go 2.5 walls deep and make a fisnhing base, sigbog has vids on this edit: while watching your vid I noticed the rust labs shown 4.5 or 5.5 depth? so, they must've nerfed shark fishing, now has to be done further out/deeper, tho idk that is that bad now.
@@antonio20123 I meant you can't catch sharks with fish traps, and the whole point of this setup is staying close to the shore to maintain the traps. If you really wanted to you could build a base on the coast and water and build a LONG bridge between the two but it's not worth IMO
@@AidanKullot Some rivers naturally generate with better terrain thats for sure.. I usually run up and down it to find the area where there are the least amount of curves.
I prefer just bigger at ocean farms. They yeild for ONE PERSON 10.500 scrap per hour or if you have second teammate 21.000 scrap per hours (16x7 blocks - 136 traps). MAKE A BIG FARM (HEMP) You get PER PLANTER around 0,90% grubs and 1,65% worms (36 cloth if you go for hemp). Time to grow 7 min.
Good info, thanks! Do you fill it entirely with worms/grubs? Do you have to fish much to maintain it or do you just spend less time tending towards traps?
I tried it on console and you don’t get anything good. You should wait until the bait system is updated. I now have this akward looking base that has no function to it… at least fishing still works. The traps were only helpful in getting me bait.
I just built on console. I went real deep thinking I could catch sharks. I used bear meat and I did catch 2 trout but raw fish meat don't work and other then the trout caught a lot of garbage fish
The nerf is based on popularity, if more people sell fish, the prices go up. Seeing as fishing(rod) got nerfed, I suspect you can still get a good deal if this setup(traps) doesn't become "meta". The exact multipliers are TBD but I will update the pinned comment when I have more information.
watching a blooprint video, then mentions this guy, wait i remember this guy. haha, you've always been ahead of the game mate.
Babe wake up! The berry farming guy I used to watch uploaded again!
Who’s here from blooprint video???

I want to go back 3 months from today.

Welcome back King
nice seeing you upload again tamura!
It's great to another Rust tutorial channel thrive, I have enjoyed a lot of your content :)

Thank you for making this vid I might get back into rust just because of this 😭 Looks like you can actually have fun solo with this
The TFT grind had to be stopped to make a rust video.
Welcome back.
Which fish should I keep and sell? Should I just gut small trout?
Omg. I've played rust for YEARS and only just now learned that you can compost bones. I usually just despawned them.
It was only recently added so you're all good :)

From Blooprint, but can you get fish from running around doing monuments or do you have to be right next to it?

I'm only getting smaller fish but I'm using bear meat. Did I build it incorrectly or is it just bad luck?
lol you got a shoutout from blooprint for this xd
By the way, you only need a stack of 2 grubs for it to catch the highest tier fish, but you need a stack of 3 worms.
☁ Puff Puff Pass ☁ Namaste
Just do some fishing in a small sta base with bear meat, you’ll make much more with sharks
can i do this in the shore of the ocean or has to be river?
ocean is fine, but river has slightly higher scrap yield :)
Online it says you can only do it on the shore

No matter how many times i try i cant place my fish trap in the foundation

Yes, the height matters (I aim for about half way down into the water).

how well does it work for console rust?
is it patched yet
Won't this type of scrap farming be nerfed hard with their upcoming proposed change to make things more expensive as more people sell items for scrap?
The nerf is based on popularity, if more people sell fish, the prices go up. Seeing as fishing(rod) got nerfed, I suspect you can still get a good deal if this setup(traps) doesn't become "meta".
The exact multipliers are TBD but I will update the pinned comment when I have more information.
I see their change only affects buying with scrap, not selling for scrap. So my comment is null & void.
i will never farm scrap using fishing id rather be forever primlocked than waste my life waiting for rust fish to bite.
Did you watch the video? Its a passive farm, you just have to collect it every so often.
