I always leave my Christmas tree and decorations until Jan 6th and take it down on the Jan 7th. I was born in Europe so that's how my parents did it. The 3 wise men only reached the baby Jesus on Jan 6th with the gifts so it's considered the Christmas season. Enjoy your decor as long as it makes you and your kids happy.🦋

My grandson and his girlfriend were gonna be having a little girl in February, her name was gonna be Maddison. They lost her at 17 weeks on October 3rd this year to what the doctor called a catastrophic cord event. I and we all missed getting to buy things for her for when she would be born. Then on Christmas Eve he asked her to marry him and they are on the top of the world. It took him a year to get up the nerve, LOL. Thank you for the cleaning motivation you give us and being such a great Mom to your babies, Hope 2024 is the most awesome year for you all.
I have already started taking my decorations down. Just ready for my house to be back to normal. I don’t envy people that have to clean up/organize all of the kids toys. That would be overwhelming for me. My niece and her husband took their two girls to Disney the morning after Christmas so they had to clean the house and organize the toys on Christmas night. 🦋 I took my Christmas down today and got the house all clean. It feels so good and cozy, my fireplace is going a candle burning, and soft music playing! Trying to decompress! I feel the same about my Christmas decorations this year. I am thinking of leaving my winter stuff out and changing my tree into a valentines tree. I did it one year and I loved it. Having all the decorations up helps me also through the yucky winter months . I suffer with seasonal anxiety disorder and this time of year is rough.

I marveled that your sweet little Charli didn't carry off some of Barbie's accessories. My Yorkies are older now, but when they were young many of Barbie's shoes would have been missing their mates. I usually take Xmas stuff down the weekend after new years but keep "winter" type things up for another month or so, so it gives it that wintery feel 🥰
You should try moving your dining room table closer to your kitchen and turn it Parallel. Then put a couple of comfy swivel sitting chairs or a cute love seat facing the fire place. It makes a nice reading nook or a place to enjoy the fireplace.
My mom used to make a boxed cake mix with leftover candy. She only used soft candy like chocolate or even m&ms. She put all the candy in the food processor to make it small, then added it to the cake batter. Comes out great! 🦋
I took everything down yesterday just have to move a large piece of furniture that will have to wait until I have some help to move it. I like taking this week to purge and organize around the house and start the new year with a clean sparkling house.

You may want to try making a simple syrup. 1:1 one cup sugar one cup water, heat to boil and turn off. I add it to our tea and we get no sugar granules floating about or settling to the bottom.😊
I am always sad after Christmas...I am doing like you and I did it last year and loved it. I'm taking down all the red and stuff that screams Christmas. I'll leave my pencil tree and small trees up for a bit. We have a real tree in the living room so I'll take it down this weekend. It's a process because I started before Halloween (I know lol) and I didn't finish until the second week in December. I took my time and absolutely loved how it turned out. 🦋
