I like Ian Tyson's song about Old Cheyene , the bull riders. Their stomachs full of nothing, their hearts full of hope. They buckled on their leggings and rosined up their ropes. Betty leave your lights on I'm going to make it if I can. Cause it gets inside your blood. It gets inside your mind. The only way of life there ain't no other kind. Romance, Love, Luck, Danger. We all witness it at a safe distance 8 seconds to victory is all it takes. Someone needs to write a J B Mauney song becauce that is where a true legend always stays with us right where he belongs.
Well there's this song called "Have A Drink On Me" by Pain (the only "outlaw country" song they made; they're more of a metal band) and there's a line in there that says "I'd rather lose my liver than lose my pride" 😅 that fits him 😎
You can search for songs; I found one by Bud Rokesky with his name. Recent too; that cd with the song on it came out this year. Personally I think the song is way too depressing and gloomy...

Calgary is what destroyed JB that bull and Calgary destroyed his career made him retire that free arm injury was so devastating he could never control it again it just whips around when he tries to ride. He has no control over it. We’re lucky to have seen him as long as we did greatest bull rider ever.
