Harumo has the chops indeed but man, I have NEVER heard Someone play and interpret like She does. She's on Her OWN level. SO young but BRILLIANT at the way She goes at the Music. I've been Playing for a LOT of yrs and have Played with a LOT of Musicians and different sax People but Harumo - whew....it indeed is the Heart. And I think She found a different kind of "Love" when that first tenor chose HER.
I started to love Sax because of her. Before I always thought it is glitchy in a band but Miss Harumo shows how beautiful Sax can be. I deeply respect her, she is great.
Harumo started playing the alto sax with her junior high school band at age 13. From 3 years old, she played the “electone” (electric organ) and loved to play funk, big band, jazz, and soul fusion numbers. Harumo prefers the more robust sound of the tenor sax and has been playing a Selmer Mark 6
Such energy and accuracy when she plays - absolutely perfect for jazz and the tenor. Possibly the best I have heard on the tenor, and so great to hear that Selmer sound used properly :¬)

Obviously she has roots in Dexter Gordon, clean plain lines, precise definition of every note. Selmer was my horn. Wonder what reeds she prefers?
