beautiful... id love to know more about this experiment! why you made this choice for material? i imagine nettle bast being very comfortable to walk on, but maybe not so durable? how many nettles would you approximate that you needed for these shoes? i know that the japanese waraji made from rice straw would wear out very fast when walking on them. people who had to walk to the mountains and back daily for work, would carry several pairs of waraji with them, and discard the old sandals along the way when they were worn out.
