I'm running Ventrua's Hexblast Trickster, and everything has been a breeze until T17: does this variation have more defenses? Ventrua's build feel a bit too squishy.
Yes, its specially good for t17 mainly because you take no chaos damage and you have ways other ways to sustain (absorption charges, ES recharge with wicked). And a general Hexblast Question - The exact Curses on the Rings do not matter as long as there is some combination of Elemental Weakness Frostbite Conductivity Flammability and no duplicates, right?
@@Jokar93 Hi, 1- You should aim for max mines placed, but in my case thats all I can based on my unres mana, that's why my pob has that specific number configured. 2- It's like 8% extra ehp when it's active, not a big deal but it's something, I would recommend immortal call instead if you have enough strength. 3- Withering step is to stack wither stacks faster for burst damage. Useful on those bosses with multiple phases. Definitely something optional once you get the BoT. 4- For the curses you use ele weakness always + an elemental curse. It doesn't matter which one, just check that it matches with your gloves exposure implicit. To add, since we are dealing chaos damage that inflicts all ailments, lowering any res won't affect the ailment effect, you just want to lower one as much as you can.
@@aldodzbhi, sorry to bother you, was just wondering if when you had 12 max mines to throw, if you were able to over cast more or if you had to wait for them to explode/deactivate before casting more. Just finished switching from Ventrua's to your build (except I'm using mageblood variant) and it feels weird not being able to over cast so was worried I did something wrong
@@blazewilson9584 hi, not bothering at all dw, and yes you "overcast" the mines as they start exploding. You need to activate your enduring mana flask, otherwise you won't have enough mana once you "recoup" the reservation from the mines that exploded. Since you are using MB, Im guessing that you dropped the mana flask therefore why it feels bad. MB versions generally invest more in the mana reservation to avoid that or they use a mana flask as the fifth flask. For example, I'm using a lvl 3 enlighten, you could get a lvl 4. Then, you could get a brotherhood with the +1 curse corruption and anoint charisma.
@@aldodzb thanks for the advice! I kept the mana flask with my mageblood so I didn't have a problem with mana regen, my issue was just not having enough unreserved mana for another cast once I had all my mines down like you can on Ventrua's version. The build overall feels way better and I'm dying way less on T17s than before so I'm super grateful I found your video. Thanks again for the help man, you're awesome UPDATE: my character is lvl98 so I had a few extra points to work with, so I rearranged my tree a tiny bit to allocate whispers of doom and anoint charisma, which gave me just enough unreserved mana to be able to throw 1 single mine when I've got max mines laid down. The damage loss comes from the double cluster setup mainly. I actually went from 15 to 25m dps when I did the switch, though I did buy other upgrades at the same time too. The configuration I have on my pob is more conservative too (its just a matter of taste). For example, I don't even have wither stacks active. Wither stacks, enemy ignited, same shock %, mines used recently, etc. If I add that my pob goes to 42.5m dps. If I add the double cluster, the dps goes up to 64m dps with that config. @@michalzamojski6837 It wouldn't, it's just different, it has its pros and cons. I personally haven't tried but did see others doing it. The most notable ups are the movement speed and that you can be ele immune with a storm shroud and a shock avoid flask.
In the other hand, you lose the ES recoup and -1 PC but dmg isn't an issue. I think it's worth the try. Maybe to compensate the ES sustain lost you could have the 3% regen flask mod and zealots oath.
I also started with ventrua hybrid version and before switching I was doing t17 ok, but spending multiple portals some maps. I'm now doing t17 comfortably with full juice.
This is my mod regex: t17 hexblast: "!kes|rke|efe|poss|gen|s rec|re he|r el"
To have an idea, compare the ehp and max hit numbers in the pob.
@@aldodzb Thanks for the info! Is your regex meant to highlight maps that have bad mods (so if the map is greyed-out, it's fine to run)?
@@3cc3n you run only highlighted maps. The way this regex works is that it excludes all mods you cannot run, "highlight everything that doesn't contains X".
Though, this is just for mods, depending on the strat you run, you want to also use a regex for t17 quality bonuses. Like over 100 currency, 100 scarab, 50 ps, etc.
Lastly, there are some annoying mods that you could preferably want to exclude, you can do them but they slow you down. Like rare volatiles or elder tentacles.
Can you post more showcase videos 😅 I got the boots but not sure if I should make investment to change it alp
@@jayngo23 I'm not planning on uploading more content regarding the build. But as I always recommend on these kind of videos to always do the swap on POB (using the copy item function in the trade website and pasting it in pob), then check the numbers.
If you see that the DPS and ehp/max hit is fine then it's safe.
Thank you for the Guide :)
Couple of Questions.
- Is it correct that we can only place up to 12 Mines with this Build?
- Is Steelskin even making a difference at such a low Gem-Level?
- What is Withering Step for? We get MS through Phase run and Wither through Balance of terror.
And a general Hexblast Question
- The exact Curses on the Rings do not matter as long as there is some combination of
Elemental Weakness
Frostbite
Conductivity
Flammability
and no duplicates, right?
@@Jokar93 Hi,
1- You should aim for max mines placed, but in my case thats all I can based on my unres mana, that's why my pob has that specific number configured.
To be fair, it is only a minor issue as I'm used to being able to keep throwing mines off screen even when they're not exploding so I may just have to adjust my play style. The build overall feels way better and I'm dying way less on T17s than before so I'm super grateful I found your video.
I just upgraded to a lvl4 enlighten and that bumped me up to casting 16 mines, so I think the corrupted brotherhood might be what i need to pass that breakpoint but sadly i spent all my wealth transitioning my build. Looks like it's time to get back to the grind lol. Thanks again for the help man, you're awesome
UPDATE: my character is lvl98 so I had a few extra points to work with, so I rearranged my tree a tiny bit to allocate whispers of doom and anoint charisma, which gave me just enough unreserved mana to be able to throw 1 single mine when I've got max mines laid down. It's probably not at all optimal and I'll have to see how it feels in a map but this just made me so happy lol, thank you so much
In the POB, the chest your running has 173 DEX requirement, while your character has 130, how are you getting the 50 missing dex? thank you for a reply.
You are probably missing the dex that the chest itself provides.
If not, in pob check in the "Calcs" tab, then top-right there's a box "Attributes". Hovering over the attribute will list you all its sources.
@@aldodzb When I'm removing the chest from the gearslot in POB, dexterity goes dow to 86. I'm thinking about making the swap to CI but because of that I'm afraid it's just a bait. Is there something else I'm missing?
@@aldodzb I've found a way to make it work on a fresh POB. Thank you for the answer, it is really tight but will hopefully work. won't look for a corrupted botb ammy ;)
@@ohm_ow1726 I can't see the pob you sent me because youtube removed it. Send me just the id.
Ill tell you all my sources:
Armour: 52
Gloves: 39
Amulet: 24
Base: 23
4 nodes in the tree: 40
Total: 178
You can also get them through cluster jewels affixes and rare jewels.
Is it normal to lose so much damage with CI? According to PoB this build has half the damage of the Ventrua build. Obviously 25m is plenty for mapping, but I've been enjoying doing some bosses/sanctum so the damage decrease is a bit off-putting.
For that you would need lvl 100, and drop the left spell suppression (it goes down to 87%). There also the option to use an imposible scape on Ghost Reaver and keep the SS.
Just as an example: pobb.in/1mzPsmThgqj9
@@aldodzb this is the POB where the dexterity is missing. Any ways to make it work?
Did you try the double cluster?
@@aldodzb how does the impossible escape work? I picked up the jewel to try it because I like the idea, all off the small passives in that radius look pretty good, do I just keep the majors and get rid of the minors?
@@nznige that's the idea yeah, then you use the small points saved on the clusters. Do it in pob first to compare before commiting.
can this handle t117 bosses and uber bosses esp uber Sirus?
@@utubeacct123new123 yes, easily and deathless.
I didn't do Uber Sirius specifically with it, but I have done Uber Sirius in the past and I can't think on a reason why we wouldn't be able to do it.
I did a test on Uber cortex and the build has so much damage that you evaporate the bosses, also Ubers are all about spells and we are SS capped and have a high max ele hit taken. And my current build isn't turbo expensive.
do you have a league start/leveling guide for beginning portion
Look up Ventrua's "Well Rounded Beast - Trickster Hexblast Mines - 3.25 League Start Guide" - that's the vid aldo mentions at the start. I had a good levelling experience following the guide..
As RedSun said, Ventruas pob is really good, it goes from the start to the endgame and its all explained there.
This is the link for his guide: th-cam.com/video/MYHuT34C4uY/w-d-xo.html
I'm not sure if ventruas still playing the league, but I followed it too so if you have any questions let me know
which pantheon sir?
I'm using the brine king for the anti stun stat and burning ground immunity as minor because I do red altars generally (good for CI chars).
can you help me i throw maximum 6 mine @@ how can i fix that
@@UncleOT Hi, maybe your clarity isn't at lvl 1? If it's not that check that you have all mana reservation nodes and mastery in the tree and that you are using an enlighten support lvl 3+ along side the 50 and both 35 auras.
Can you do t17 bosses ?
@@jayngo23 yes, easily, you can do ubers with it
I saw the balance of terror is in the POB, is that there purely for the all res?
@@861020 nono, the BoT is key, we use it for the wither mod. You cast despair wherever and your mines apply wither on hit. This allows you to instantly max stack wither for single target.
What is the despair for on your gem setup? Since hexblast just cares for the lowest resist, lowering chaos res won't do anything, while elemental resist is dropped much lower than chaos res with elemental weakness, flammability and glove implicit. Or am I getting something wrong here?
The balance of terror jewel: "Inflict Withered for 2 seconds on Hit if you've cast Despair in the past 10 seconds"
Can we change the belt to mageblood version?
Hi, yes you can, its all the same but with MB and mb rolled flasks.
You can get 2x evasion flask + quicksilver + silver. Or sulphur for damage.
In any of the flasks, you could also get shock avoidance and add a stormshroud to get elemental ailment immunity.
I'm wondering if you could craft the catarina regen mod on a flask and regen ES with zealot oath. That could be pretty good too.
@@aldodzbrotgut + sin's rebirth is a MASSIVE dps jump, even without MB. Both are insanely cheap and you can just instill slam until they get "use when hitting rare or unique" rotgut gives onslaught and Sins gives unholy might which gives you wither on hit. Based on this, you can ignore mageblood. Maven belt included in this build is way better if you use this.
@@aldodzb why 2x evasion flasks? those can stack?
@@TheVillainArc363 Yes, as long as the base isn't the same then flasks stack their effect. In this case one gives flat evasion and the other % evasion.
Additionally, you can use a sulphur flask instead. Either magic or bottled faith are good options for more damage.
