I love how realistically you think. Despite how frustrating it can be while building, the end result is so satisfying knowing it could function as a real house in the real world lol
I'm so thankful for simmers like you who still do builds and build tutorials for sims 3 💕 I didnt know you could change the color and intensity of the invisible ceiling lights and I've never thought of doing a dark room for my photographer sims 🙏🏼 And the table idea is super cool! Or the M key cheat thing?? Sorry I'm commenting as I'm watching 😂 Also Cozy Vibes only 🙏🏼
26:46 I’ve never thought to put alarms outside, my brain automatically went to “ok but if it was real life, that’s easier access for a thief to try to disable the alarm!” when i place burglar alarms in my sims houses i even keep them away from windows because in my overthinking brain i like to imagine that a burglar could smash the window and disable it lol
Haha, great minds! That's exactly my thinking. People still do it though - I watched a video the other day and they'd put the alarm outside...such a beautiful house but no no no!
This is the exact video i was looking for. And i appreciate you "neurotic" tips!! I think its so important to think about logic when building since it literally makes the build so much more real and cozy.
Thank you for these tips! I used to play The Sims 4, but because of the prices of all extention packs and waiting for ''seasons'' in game I decided to give myself a little bit of time to consider buying the previous part. And I did it! It was great decision. I'm glad that I only had base game and 2-3 extras (ts4) which were released just after the base game, cause I didn't waste a lot of money. I mean - playing the sims is never a waste of money, but I still have memories from when I was playing ts3 with my cousin. We had so much fun back then. But ts4 wasn't the same for me. And that's why I bought The Sims 3! But there was another problem - building. I was familiar with building in ts4... but not with ts3. Building a small house was really troublesome... But after this video and the previous part of it (the one with creating a base etc) I finally know what I was doing wrong ^^ Soo I'm really glad I found these tutorials - they really helped me
This is SOOOOO useful! I don't think I've ever seen something more useful than this in my entire life!! Like for real.. This is definitely going to change the way I build in sims 3. Thank you so much for making this wholesome video!! *♡* Such simple things but it is amazing, truly
Love the tips! The buydebug lamps are an eye-opener for me :D Also the way you turn ugly EA-patterns into amazing stylish patterns is so great, you really have an eye for those things. Cozy vibes only!
Thank you very much that was quite helpful you are an amazing person, your explanations were full of care and love and your attention to detail and desire to make homes that feel alive is amazing
One big pet peeve of mine is when kitchen or bathroom counters overlap with windows. Lol that’s my neurotic thing. I always try to use smaller windows above the counters. Another neurotic build/decorating thing of mine is I hate when wallpaper boards don’t match throughout the house. Sims 3 I don’t run into that problem b/c create a style but in Sims 4 it’s so frustrating especially if I want an accent wall.
Awesome video. I am as neurotic as you about placement of objects like doors, stoves, showers. Not so much lamps because I run an extension cord under my couches irl. :)
I am laughing at all your so-called "neurotic tips" as I work as an architect and I *absolutely* do these things because that's how houses really work! LOL Door swings, plumbing walls, hall widths, kitchen layouts... these are all realistic things to consider. Or maybe I'm just neurotic right along with you 😂
@@plumdot You are absolutely not the only one and I am so glad you are reassured! These are great approaches (and honestly, these are some great decorating tips even for 'real life'!! So multi-purpose win! I do find myself wanting to make it my life's mission to prove to you that bathrooms don't have to be boring, though 🤣
@@plumdot I am going to work on that then! I love giving bathrooms personality - even if it only applies to a master en suite, there really is opportunity for creativity!
I am so in love with your interiors, I dream of one day being able to create designs like these. I would also love to see a video on how to use the festival lot markers, I have some cool ideas, but I'm not sure how to implement them. Thanks so much and cozy vibes only!🤩
Aww thank you, m'dear! You'll definitely get there, like I said, it's taken me years to get where I am today with my interiors. If you don't mind sharing one of your ideas, I'll see if I can implement it into the video on the festival lot marker video 💚
both of these videos were SO useful, I tried to build as I was watching, and, for the first time in YEARS, I was able to come up with a pretty little house for my sim 🥺 so I can't thank you enough
Yees! I need rules when creating anything (not just to follow them, but in order to break the rules you FIRST must know them yknow) and I'm so happy I've learned the kitchen triangle rule today :D
Thank you so much for this, actually looking forward to building and decorating a house, i normally just use premade lots or my lots end up looking like prisons and thank you so much for introducing me to the no stencil mod. Can't wait to play around with it in CAS 😊😊
Thanks so much for all the useful info! I've been trying for ages to figure out how to get my counters and bars to work together like that! Also going to download the stencil remover mod immediately! So excited and inspired now!❤️

Thank you sooo much 😘 very very useful tips. I will try them in my game 😄 I like very much yours interiors. They are really cozy and have a soul. Thanks once again 🌹
The PC version seems much more hands-on with the decor and all. I am on the xbox360 console. I have a computer but my man uses it for his business. Maybe someday I will get a gameing friendly laptop. 🎉😊
Hiii this video is so informative, it gives me home furnishing reno show vibes but in the sims! I have a question about moving shelves at different wall heights. I'm not sure if this was covered in the video but I always struggle with moving them up at down a wall, as they only go so low/high (I always use move objects of course). Is this to do with the snapping cheat? Thanks
What computer setup etc do you use for the sims 3? It looks like it runs SO smoothly like in build mode when I do CAStyle and drag the patterns it lags so much so it takes like 10x longer (and I have the lazy duchess smooth patch installed…)
