In this this video we check the valve clearance on my Honda Super Cub C125 and I briefly go over adjustment. Torque Values: Timing Cover = 6nm Crankshaft bolt cover = 8nm
So I’m a little bit of a fanatic I change my oil every 2000 miles but when I first got it, I changed it to that 300 600 and then 2000 and now I’m gonna change it every 2000 miles after that because it’s not a lot of oil and I just don’t feel like it’s the best thing to have that 1 quart of oil for 4000 milesbut that’s me. I’m trying to see if I can get 150,000 miles out of this motorcycle and I have the same one you have.
Update redid the job made the intake valve close to 0.01 ... my scooter at top speed run used to do 106 to 113 mpg (4.5ltr.uk) now it just did 141mpg lol . Moving the intake valve 0.08 down to 0.01 ruffly meks such a difference on fuel ?
Mine had some issues when i did my first oil change, the bike started to make some noise when idle. I was wondering if doing the valve adjustment will reduce the noise somehow? The noise coming from the engine is a pain in my butt.
How often would you check regularly? I know manual says 4,000 miles. But I heard from both sides saying you should do every 2,000 or people who also says you don't have to do maintenance so regularly. So confusing.

Yes i do the previous owner installed one of those golden plugs. Seems to work pretty good it was loaded with gunk when I changed my oil.

Sorry I'm not sure but it wouldn't hurt to at least check the clearance and see if it is in spec. It'll make a tapping sound if it is loose.

I just stick with what the manual says. Generally a newer engine would probably need more valve adjustments than a one with more miles though.
