So do you like resolve more than final cut? I use both. To me, it felt the same for me on both. I can switch back and forth but my habit is using resolve for so long. I used iMovie for a long time too so it was so easy to jump into Final Cut lol. But to me, both are great! I have a feeling since Apple is bias with Final Cut, it may be better on the mac. The advantage on resolve is we can go back and forth between PC and Mac. One of the first video editor I learned was on Premiere and people swear by it, but man...I can't do premiere anymore lol. Just eats up so much space and ram, even today. Final Cut and Resolve are definitely better.
I flip flop from both - currently in my Final Cut phase - the project files get so big though. I like that you can copy and paste from Finder into Final Cut - but Resolve you have to import it then drag it in - so Final cut slightly faster in work flow. Also i have a rotoAI mfusion plugin that helps do certain edit/masks I want to do for my videos - and Resolve version is supser sloww (and slower compared to my windows computers)
I was thinking about getting the 14” M3 Pro 18GB/512GB that’s on sale for $1,749 at Best Buy but I decided to go for the 13” M2 24GB/1TB because it’s on sale brand new for $1,399 at Best Buy. I will mainly use it for Xcode/development related task. I didn’t go for the 15” Air because if I need more screen space, I just connect it to my desk monitor.
More ram is a safe bet - i'm definitely being affected by 8/256 configuration - as I think using OBS to record movies and have teams up stalls the my MBA - along with Final Cut sometimes hanging (though even my M3 Max 36/1TB config also slows down) I think i'll find a middle ground and return the $3K M3 Max and just get a $1200 M1 Pro refurb from microcenter - that spec being 16GB RAM , 512GB SSD or may splurge and go $1999 16 inch M1 Max
I actually just picked up the M3 Max - my M2 MBA was lagging.... but I may reconsider just using it for TH-cam videos for 2 weeks but picking up a refurb M1 pro..... or just sticking it out wiht the MBA
No need to delete - just googled it you right lol - I was an engineer went to tech school English/ talking wasn’t my forte. I scored really low on SAT in English and only got into a tech engineering school cuz luckily my math section was 700+ lol
Are you going to get the new M3 Macbook Air?

If you are not using it for work, get the M3 Air.
For high-end programming or engineering, get an M3 Pro Macbook Pro.
