Growing a store bought dormant dahlia tuber

Dahlias are a real joy to grow. They come in lots of colors, shapes, sizes and heights and because they grow fast they are very rewarding. In this video we look at rehydrating a dormant store bought dahlia tuber and placing into the correct sized pot to promote early flowering.
Dry dahlia tubers can be planted directly into the ground when risk of frost has passed. If you have the time and space you can put them up in late March or April and get them growing before they get planted out into the ground. This will reward you with flowers earlier in the season.
