A Hidizs rep, after watching this video, commented that others have seen the lack of volume control on the unit itself as an advantage, being less complicated to operate and lowering the chances of surprise loudness because another volume controlling step is in the signal chain. Talk about completely missing the boat. It's a dongle meant to drive IEM's off of a phone. For that, it's stellar. Small, powerful, super clean and neutral, AND it's controlled by the phone's volume control.
I think the btr5 is still the standard for these hundred dollar dac amps. With over 2 volts coming out of the balanced output it powers my hd600s with ease. I swear it even has better soundstage and detail then when using my K5pro although the K5 does have a little more low-end. When I force my Android phone to the highest quality Bluetooth LDAC setting I can barely hear the difference from when I use it with the USB
