I'm sorry but some of you guys are sounding idiotic. You are under a LOT of pressure when playing the game, and the stress drains a considerable amount of cognitive energy. Why are you stressed? Because you know you are going to be watched and judged on television, because one single wrong answer can get you out of the game, and because you are under huge pressure to conserve time. Most of the questions on this show are long and contestants worry that they can lose their train of thought while listening to the question and might have to ask Anne to repeat the question. You are required to answer the question immediately, so almost all answers are reflexive. When your name is called out a large amount of adrenaline (which controls the fight or flight response) is released and your heart rate raises dramatically, and if you have no idea about which of the two options is correct your heart rate raises further, and the resulting stress severely compromises your working memory capacity, to the extent that you may not properly remember the options. In such moments, your body automatically chooses the "flight" response and you say "pass". When contestants say "pass" it is an instinctive response largely beyond their control. Altering your stress response is a long term process and cannot be done in a matter of seconds.

Leanne M I agree. I was like. WTH!
I was thinking Halogen!
If the periodic table had H as humor, they would all have missed it. ;)
That’s not even an element...
British education system...
These comedians were trying too hard to be funny. Was painful to watch
+Tyrone Foulkes Especially Rowland. I love Helen though. She's been in some great stuff. I can't believe she went so quick.
Host: Lake Superior is on the border of the USA and which other country?
Helen: PeNsiLvAiNA
I remember Helen from loads of TV when I was a kid in the 80s. Her eyes freaked me out then and still do now I'm 40!
Oh yes, she was in the Sooty Show I think, which I loved, still do lol, and her eyes looked like gobstoppers, utterly terrifying to a kid! Still couldn't quite look at her eyes now.
Johnny is much smarter than he sounds usually.
Only one I recognize is a very young Johnny Vegas. So happy he won.
Comedians ??
Where?
This is just a normal episode, there’s no comedians on here sorry. A part from Anne.
So old. yet still so interesting to watch.....
I didn't mind Johnny winning although there were few others were stronger.
At time point 35:46 I heard someone say zero just before Johnny Vegas answered zero.
It was Barry I think.
If Rowland would stop trying to play to the Camera they would have had 2K more
exactly ...he is the showy brat that wants the attention all the time....+ he is a very poor comedian...someone needs to tell him LOUD & OBNOXIOUS isn't funny!
What strategy….get rid of the strong and keep the weak! Brilliant
How much money they let go simply cause they didn’t bank when the time was counting down was so infuriating
The Netherlands didn’t use the Euro in 2001?!
Nah I think they did in 2002 tho
