🎉🎉🎉 I’m so happy for you two to have that much in savings!! Having a good chunk put away helped me be less financially anxious - like I could tackle stuff if it came up. Also weirdly made it mentally easier to continue saving $ and tackle debt.
Thanks for sharing! If your budget was perfect, it would be boring :-). For me as a spender I have to move money where I can access it - like debt pay down or investments - but I’m 100% with you on a healthy emergency fund
Have you thought about doing a separate video on net worth tracing either monthly or quarterly? I’m a budget spreadsheet girly too and when I started doing this for net worth I felt such a more sense of calm bc it zooms out/is big picture and a big part of it is out of my control (market ups and downs) for example whereas a monthly budget feels like it’s all up to me. Idk just a thought if you’re willing to share I’d def tune in!
To be honest, I’ve never even looked into or tracked net worth 😅 We’ve also been so deep in debt that it wasn’t even worth it, plus we don’t own any cars or houses, etc. But it’s definitely something we’ll start to look into now - probably won’t be a video soon, but I love the idea for later this year!!
Wow that is amazing!!! That savings is so exciting! Good for you for beefing it up so quickly! Genuine question, not meaning to shame or ask negatively, but do you guys do any retirement investing? I just turned 30 and all of the sudden feel stressed about retirement because I have nowhere near recommended savings
We currently don’t! This is the first year we’ve been at a place where we’re comfortable to start investing in that again. We’ve actually had to use previous retirement to pay medical bills 😭 But Ben should be getting a raise this month so I think we’re finally gonna start investing again! To be honest, I’ve wanted to for awhile but Ben is less interested (which is funny because I’m like “you’re the one that’s gonna have to work forever if we don’t save for retirement” 😂
@@JessieFritz my husband is the same way! I think it’s because he doesn’t consume as much personal finance content so he just assumes we will be okay with social security and I’m like that’s not how it works! But one step at a time. We are currently working on saving for a self funded maternity leave while ttc, paying off student loans, and then dealing with necessary home fixes and it feels like retirement is on the back burner for now

Ahh thank you!! We’re pumped and feel so much less stress

Totally understand that! I’m normally like that, too 😂🫠 Ben prefers saving so I’m learning how to do that and not spend it.
Enjoy your videos. Awesome saving 🎉
Thank you!

$25K yesssssssss 💸💸💸
I honestly could never picture getting to this point! I know so many people have way more in savings but this is HUGE for us! 🥰
@@JessieFritz honestly, we don't have that much 🫠 unless we cash out from retirement thingies. That's an awesome milestone 💜
Totally - I never thought we’d get here! gotta get on that retirement game though 😅🫠
