hi! I made a, albeit very outdated at this point, video about (th-cam.com/video/6wuicgTD6EE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UWIUTW7AYi0G14xK) what works for me - and this was also in the context of those asking for tips specifically to read more, but I can definitely do an updated one soon if that would answer more questions!
It’s always fun to see others favorite reads of a year. But then you need to pick a top 10 yourself and it becomes super hard 😅 Here’s my top 10 books of 2023 - Light from uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki - Babel by R.F. Kuang - Sanctuary by Paola Mendoza & Abby Sher - Against the Loveless World by Susan Abulhawa - The Lesbiana‘s Guide to Catholic School by Sonora Reyes - We Deserve Monuments by Jas Hammonds - Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo - Pachinko by Min Jin Lee - Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan - Heartstopper by Alice Aseman
we have SO many similar favorites! In fact basically all the ones here I love! I haven't really read that much of Heartstopper and haven't read Sanctuary yet!
@@UtopiaStateofMind pls be aware with Sanctuary that its a very heavy read and definitely check the trigger warnings if you wanna pick it up. Many things feel much too real to be a dystopia what it is marketed at.
hello! I've linked in a different comment a video where I chatted about my reading types (albeit in a video where people had wanted tips on how to read more) so definitely check it out if you'd like to watch. But for me, I read multiple hours a day, have always been a fast reader, and plenty of audiobooks while I'm not actively sitting down reading. I can definitely make a video if you're interested in more information.
@@AydenJonason hello! To answer a variety of questions, but all in bulk, the average is definitely over one a day because I'm actively reading - at different paces to avoid burnout - around 5 or 6 books a day. I'm consistently reading audiobooks when I'm commuting, knitting, and also doing general daily things like washing my face and brushing my teeth. I've always been a fast reader - you can look at previous year wrap ups - and also have grown up being a quick reader. Additionally (cause I saw a comment of yours I believe from another thread) I do spend multiple hours a day reading. Regarding comics and manga, I read 12 graphic novels in 2023, not to mention my steadfast belief that comics and mange definitely count as reading and would be included in my total if I read any last year. I hope that answers more of your questions.
Wow how are you reading that amount of books
